Miles is his own worst enemy, as a rookie, he showed promise as a top 3 down back, last year he couldn't catch and couldn't pass block - and if you can't be trusted on pass plays, that kind of restricts the playbook when you're in the game. If he could earn more trust as a receiver and blocker, that would open more opportunities to run out of passing formations.. He's not the power runner you're gonna line up and pound with 20-25 times a game, so to be effective he needs to be able to force the defense to play honest.

Didn't I say that? I just don't think he's THAT much better, stronger arm but prone to mind farts.

In LA, if he's asked to do less, he may screwup less.

Ok. Let me be more clear. Stafford is clearly significantly better than Goff. Stafford doesn’t pee down his leg when pressured. Stafford also threatens the whole field and doesn’t require a scheme to hide him.

That's fair but I'd just like to see him get more than 5 to 10 carries a game.  He should be getting at minimum 15 carries a game.

Not the QB's talent, the talent surrounding him.

So you say Watson is not elite because of QBR and points scored, and he should be better because of a pro bowl LT ( when the entire rest of the unit stinks and has been the lowest graded unit for years ), and because they have a high YPA ( which has absolutely no correlation to pass protection ) but now the talent surrounding him matters ??

You should do us all a favor, when you are posting stats, points, etc, you should post a link to your reference, as I posted a PPG by offense link that does not agree with the numbers you posted.

Not necessarily a bad thing.  If Dillard continues to improve at LT (He looked decent there against the Cowboys) and Mailata goes back to playing RT (More natural position for a guy of his stature) we could potentially have our tackle combination for the next decade. Therefore, I don’t mind seeing Dillard getting as many snaps as possible at LT, tbh.

I hope they are able to scheme some guys open this week

Last year, Jeff talked about making changes at head coach etc and referenced two teams that did that, but he also stopped short of mentioning they also fired their GM's, so, instead of letting Howie try to dig himself out of a hole that he created, the complete tear down and rebuild should've started last year.

Yep, they messed up there.  Say Lurie actually does fire Howie after a bad 2021.  You know a new GM is going to want his guy, much like a coach wants his QB.  That GM might be forced to go a year with Sirianni before his guy is there so right off the bat, 2 years wasted.

With the draft capital the Eagles have this year, I think it's imperative to replace Howie before the draft, even if you just reduce his role and bring in a real GM (never going to happen).  Think about the 2022 draft.  It SHOULD be loaded from top to bottom due to the Covid season.  Then you add in the fact that the Eagles are looking at potentially having 3 top 15 picks.  This is a franchise altering draft for the Eagles.  Having the wrong guy pulling the trigger could be detrimental to the teams future.

The bottom line is this franchise has become so poorly run by Jeff Lurie.

The 1-2 Eagles and the 1-2 Chiefs -  one thing is not like the other.

Ready to draft Olave?

If they use all 3 first rounders this year rather than trading out, I would have no problem with Olave...provided the other 2 picks are a stud DE and CB/S.  Olave is as smooth as they come at WR.  IMO, he's a combination of DeVonta Smith and Justin Jefferson.

Watson just put up the 15th highest passer rating in NFL history with no OLine, no run game, no defense with Brandon Cooks and Will Fuller for part of the season.

Yeah, he stinks. Let's target Goff instead.

Passer rating is irrelevant if it doesn’t fit your narrative.

Dillard's ceiling is maxed, there is no improving.

If we had just drafted Justin Jefferson, would not need Devonta Smith or Olave.

First of all, the pro bowl is a joke.  Second of all, he was a replacement player for Rodgers who did not play.

And not sure how you determined he "turned it around" at 28.  His 3rd worst QBR season was his age 30 season.  His 5th best QBR was his age 23 season.

Still wanting to know where you came up with your offensive PPG numbers ??  Can you provide a link ??  I posted a link showing that the Texans actually scored about 2 PPG less than what you posted, just want to compare notes.

PFR, raw numbers are given on the franchise page, but you need to correct by going to the team stats page and subtract defensive and ST TDs and their related points.

AF, Stafford is clearly a better QB than Goff. C’mon.

Honestly I’m at the point his QB takes are just ridiculous. Stafford isn’t that much better than Goff and mahomes is unproven. Need an arbitrary 57 games to know.

Juicy

Keep Boobie please!

Otherwise, agreed on the rest.

We can keep him, but you can't build around a RB anymore.  When this team can compete again, he'll have at least 2 more years of tread on his tires, and he's already not the most durable back.   I'd be fine keeping him, as long as the price is right.  I'm not putting big money into him though.

He's only started 5 games in his career

I still think bridgewater was always meant to be a bridge to another QB whether rodgers or they draft another one. I dont think Denver believes they are capable of winning a super bowl with bridgewater. Either way i think when push comes to shove against better teams his limited ceiling will come into play.

I also think if carr regresses as the season continues on i could see the raiders being in on rodgers. I think the giants are a wild card in any QB discussions. They are going to have a top 6 pick and with how the bears offense looks could have two top 10 picks.

I think with the Giants it will depend on whoever they bring in as a coach.  I believe Gettleman and Judge are going to be gone absent some turn around this season.  I agree that Bridgewater was a low cost bridge QB.  If he continues to play well, do they view him as a solution or worth keeping vs. going all in on Rodgers.  I agree that Carr, even if he has a good season, may still be out if Rodgers would come to the Raiders.

What you really mean is... if they just listened to Iggles_Phan, everything would be better.  ;)

I must be confused, since I'd didn't realize Goff was an awful QB.

He did flatline the past two years, but his first two years darn good, 63.6%, 8.2 YPA, QB rating 100.9, QBR 61.0. 24-7 record. One example (so is Wentz) why you wait a few years before anointing young QBs. Don't know if he hurt his arm or just incompatible with his HC.

Stafford to Goff is an upgrade, but not to the same extent as going from Whinston to Brady.
