Exactly. I thought it was common sense. He's big and they're only at the 1yd. Shotgun made no damn sense. Could have been up 3 scores before the half

feels like a big turning point where the Jaguars below this 14 point lead and urban Meyer still winless

He's like 6'6 at the 1yd and they have him run it from shotgun? Why not just QB sneak it under center

The new NFL.   Just stupid.  Shotgun all the time.

The only thing that makes sense about his answer is he’s covering for the players and they are just terrible or stupid at running the plays in practice with motion so he’s dumbing it down

Almost like punting on the OTAs might have hurt them... and punting on playing in the PS might not have benefited them much either... or limiting practice to just over an hour rather than going the full allowed time that the CBA allows.

A team that had an established culture, established systems, could get away with less time on the field.  A team going through a transition like this needed as much time on the field as possible.   Sure, those 10 plays in preseason each week might not make a huge difference... but if they get 5-10 more reps every practice, maybe that does.  No reason for them to have taken such a cavalier attitude towards being on the field working on things.

I get the idea of going for the TD.  But, taking the FG there makes it a 3 possession game.  Gotta take the points there.

Avant and Mikell absolutely destroyed the Eagles on his podcast.

* Ripped Sirianni’s game plan, as pretty much everyone is.

* Said there were times where both Hargrave and Cox were double teamed on a play and the LBs just sat and watched instead of filling the gaps.

* Nelson busted his coverage on Lamb’s long catch.

* The safeties aren’t coming up fast enough in run support.

* Hurts’ first interception obviously was an awful throw but Reagor again ran a terrible route that made it easy for the CB to turn and find the ball before him.

* The pick six was obviously a bad throw and read, but the route was telegraphed by the Eagles’ formation. I don’t recall why he said that.

* The Eagles need more motion to allow the skill players free releases and to create movement in defense. I still have no idea why we don’t use motion, and Sirianni’s explanation why didn’t make any sense either.

I was happy they ripped Reagor early on in the show in regard to the interception. Yes, Hurts could've thrown a much better ball, absolutely. But Reagor is a damn first round pick, he didn't even make an attempt at that pass. Watkins who's slight compared to Reagor contests passes more. Reagor does all those push ups and for what, he doesn't get any use out of his supposed strength. Maybe he should hire Steve Smith to train him since they both have a similar body size. He's just such a disappointment to me and that was such a strong and deep draft, really seems like golden opportunities were flushed.

We needed a backup QB!

Almost finished listening to it, Avant really hated the Eagles getting embarrassed and basically blown off the field.  Both guys think a veteran WR is needed because the Eagles WR’s are getting mugged at the LOS because they’re small.  Mentioned Steve Smith being small but an a hole with a Napoleon Complex and no CB was gonna beat him.
Mikell did not like the Dallas Pop Warner nonsense of the Dallas O Line doing the up\down, up\down to run the clock out, because it’s disrespectful.
As you said he got on the linebackers for not helping and only being good horizontally, not vertically.    Funny thing is the Chiefs are 31 or 32 in run defense, apparently Andy Reid still hates linebackers, like the Eagles.
Mentioned how much pass blocking all game sucks because you never get to smack the linebacker or D linemen that’s been kicking your ass all game. .

JaMarr Chase finally gets one.

Chase gonna be good for a long time

Going for it was correct.

Running out of shotgun at the 1 in the redzone. SMH.

Going for it is only correct if you get in at that point in the half.  As demonstrated, they didn't get to take advantage of the terrible field position by the Bengals with the half coming immediately.  3 possessions was the key.  Now it is a one possession game.  Those missing 3 points could loom large.

Running out of the shotgun is just criminal.

Jags play calling isn’t good

Jamar Chase is the best skill player from this draft.

To bad twice a year the Eagles have to go against the best defensive player in the draft, by far.   Oh but he had off the field issues.

Btw, I was in the hospital from early August to the end with Covid, by then I couldn’t even sign into Fantasy Baseball and my first two weeks in, really sucked, apologies.   I haven’t even wanted to see who won it…

That's not how decision-making works. You can't play hindsight to find out if it's a good call.

Meaning it wasn't a good call, because they had to make it 3 possessions there.   Going for it where you can take advantage of the field position... because you could hold them and get a short field after holding them to a 3 and out makes going for the TD a better option.  They were in an all or nothing situation.  They needed the points.

Nope Asante Samuel Jr has been better

Surtain has been really good as well, but Parsons IMO is gonna be game changer.  He’s a rookie with no assignment on the field but to disrupt everything.

Can you imagine this defense if they had Parsons and Samuel Jr?  Finally some young core pieces on the defensive side of the ball.

I wanted nothing to do with Parsons, thought Devonta was right pick and still believe it. Asante Samuel Jr on the other hand should of been the guy in the 2nd round. Still can’t believe they passed on him

Jacksonville showing why they are the JAGs.

Nice to see a young QB read a defense and audible to the right play.

The right play was to throw it to the WR standing by himself with no one within 20 yards of him.

Might have two 2nd rounders. So it’s definitely in play….

I can’t believe the bengals put up with him all preseason with the drops and adjusting to the ball and didn’t just cut him…
