For as bad Eagles have been, thank god I’m not a Jags fan

Yeaaaaahhh probably should’ve kicked the field goal to go up 17-0 lol

me: hey Urban do you know owen?

urban: Owen who?

me: 4

If this was any other team besides Jags I’d bet Urban gets fired before he quits.

Urabn needs to get his butt to USC, this NFL thing is not for him.

Has Howie ever drafted a rookie of the month?

Wentz was in September I believe.

Yes he is.  He is horrendous.  Dumbest guy on the beat.  By far.

See I used to think that too but actually I think he just calls it how he sees it.

I sincerely don't understand how the Eagles can seemingly always miss on draft picks (Lowie). They never pick a stud. They always reach. You'd think at some point they'd by sheer luck have a good draft. What a joke. Anyone that can truly defend Howie is an absolute moron. Like, you and your scouts are worse at evaluation than some people on a message board making memes for crying out loud.

Now obviously I'm blowing it out of proportion (kinda), but damn.

Ok, Jay, we get it.

I can't wait for him to be traded elsewhere so the 'reports' stop.

Strongly rooting for a Watson to Miami trade that includes Tua as that can easily blow up their season once Deshaun gets suspended.

He would need to and likely would. Otherwise that will screw our pick.

5 picks (including 3 firsts) would destroy a franchise.

A lot of people liked Davis Mills before the draft; some even had him as an end of Round 1 or start of Round 2 prospect.

I don’t think it’s a given at all that HOU would take Tua as part of a deal.

With next year’s QB class looking rough, it would make sense to insist on including him if only for an asset.

It would however be very Texans-like to pass on him because of a third-round QB.

Can we force the texans to take Hurts in a Watson deal?

Never was a fan of Tua , wouldn’t want him included in any deal .

I think his younger brother has more upside than him .

Depends on their evaluation of Tua.  He doesn’t have the size, speed, arm to be an elite QB.  If I don’t see him as a starter I wouldn’t have him at $8.2M and $9.6M for 2 years

I'm not saying they would. It was speculated that they would ship Tua out to try and get back some capital to a team like Washington. Miami, that is.

I was glad Avant and Mikell went in on the players and coaches.  As ex-players, they can take a very rosy view of the team but there is no excuse for how passive the Eagles org have been on the pitch.  I try to be positive, but I can see the Chiefs dropping 40+ points on Sunday if the coaches and players stay as is. Kelce will eat the LBs alive with all the space that they leave on the field.

What has Tua put on tape that would excite other teams enough , to give up picks for him ?

absolutely nothing .

Darnold was traded for a 2/4/6. What exactly did he show that would excite teams?

Watching the wide view of the Eagles D.  Nelson and Slay both looked pretty bad.  Cowpads receivers had separation all game whereas the cowpads pressed the Eagles receivers. I understand zone but the Ss are playing 15-20 yards back most of the time leaving a huge cushion and it isn’t like they are getting to the ball quickly.   With how poorly the DL is at pressure, and the LBs at playing the gaps, the secondary is there to be feasted on.   Now, I don’t believe Gannon has much to work with.  Wilson is awful. Johnson runs to the ball but is obviously raw, yet he is better than Avery by far.

Hurts is not getting any quicker getting the ball out, the DB has time to recover from separation by the time the ball gets out.  Always has been a concern of mine with him.  Seven games playing in the NFL.  If we are going to see improvement, it should happen very soon.

I don't believe there are any alternatives at this point.

I think on defense, this season is more about player evaluation than anything else, by the second half, it won't surprise me if there's a revolving door between the PS and main roster and a lot of kids get cameos. One benefit of the tough early schedule if their playoff hopes are quickly dashed, Howie can sell at the trade deadline and raid practice squads the rest of the year. Then eat some veteran contracts in the offseason and go with youth in 2022.

Hurts gets most of this year to show improvement, if he still looks like this in December, I expect Minshew to take over.

The one temptation they need to resist is trading for a QB, better to struggle for two years with a true rebuild and obtain a bunch of young athletes on both sides of the ball. Then go get a QB. The mistake so many rebuilding franchises make is focusing on the QB instead of building a team. Once you have a team, you can add a veteran QB for a short-term fix or package picks and gamble on a kid in a situation where he's not running for his life.
