Does he work hard tho? There is rumors going around that Jalen is the only player to ever work hard to get into the NFL.

He definitely lacks in the drip department

Had a bad and ugly thought today,

Could you imagine if Howie keeps Jalen as starting QB, we end up with Colts 1st rd pick, and Howie uses all 3 1st rd picks on offense.

I couldn't read past that, because if Howie sticks around, nothing but bad and ugly will follow it.

If hurts is not good the rest of the year I’m guessing lurie is making a executive decision and they are getting a QB someway somehow. That’s what he basically did after firing chip

You’re most likely right. I do like the guy Malik Willis out of Liberty from some clips I’ve seen. Haven’t watched a full game yet. Read positive things on Corral from Ole Miss.

Hopefully they’d stay away from Howell and Rattler, which probably means one of them would be the pick

Howie hired all of them.

Same guys that drafted Sidney Jones and Landon Dickerson, neither guy was cleared to play when they were drafted, Taylor was drafted as a project.  2nd and 3rd round picks are too high for injured projects when no one knows exactly how those injuries will affect their play. These are the same guys that passed on DK Metcalf for an injury that was healed 2.5 months before the draft.  Of course another neck injury could end his career, but if Dickerson tears another ACL, or has an ankle injury,  what career does he have left?  None!

Dickerson btw, hasn’t really blocked anyone since December.. In college… Where run blocking is a skill that’s used, these rocket scientists put him in a game two weeks ago and starts this last game for a coach that doesn’t believe in running the ball which is far easier to block for and yet fans wonder why the Eagles O Linemen end up crippled.   It’ll be a miracle if Dickerson is still in the NFL when he turns 26.

Cooking a frozen block of packaged steak to make cheesesteaks tonight.

On that note, I’ll show myself out.

I’m all in on Ridder. I wanna see how he does against Norte dame this weekend. If he stars in that game i think he’ll wind up seeing his stock soar up

I made cheesesteaks on Wednesday night. If anyone has some tips on seasoning for the meat please do give some advice.

A defense can be built pretty quickly.  Josh Sweat and Hargrave may be the only potential defensive starters 2-3 years from now (throw in Milton Williams from the optimist in me).  There's not much there, but it doesn't take long on D.

On offense, we probably maybe have the weapons covered after years of repeated failed investments.  Smith/Reagor/Watkins really aren't looking like anything special right now, but we can't double down on WR/TE/RB after such recent investments...and the offense might be too dysfunctional * @Veejer* to properly evaluate the weapons.  So I see more urgency in fostering their development than I do in rebuilding a defense.  The only way to do that is to find a QB and to protect him with an OL.  The OL situation is dire both short and long term.

I just use Lawries season all... If it's good quality steak then I'll just do salt pepper and garlic. I don't like the seasoning to over power the taste of the steak.  That's just my preference though.

Forgot about him, and Carson Strong from Nevada as well

Yup and there will be no other way to spin it, unless Hurts gets some nagging injury and they activate him to say they want to be safe unless there are more injuries.

You just need a few anchor guys for a defense, a top safety, another DL, a LB or CB, and fill in the rest with players you get in the middle rounds, 2nd tier FAs on short-term deals, etc. When you draft guys like Taylor, Bradley, Wallace, McPhearson, Maddox, Jackson, Johnson, you're hoping for depth and one or two emerging, but you rarely find pro bowl types on the third day. Sweat, Hargrave, Williams on the DL, hopefully some will step up on the back seven, but they need to spend some draft capital on a couple difference makers.

The OL is close to set, Mailata/Dillard - Seumalo/Driscoll - Herbig/Dickerson - DIckerson - ???. They need maybe one starter added and some depth the next couple years. They have 3 athletic WRs, they need a possession big body type but you don't need to use a 1st rd pick to find one. Goedert/Stoll/Jackson at TE. Sanders/Gainwell at RB. When you have a Dawkins, you can pair him with a Mikell.

This roster can be filled out in two drafts, leaving the one hole at QB - but better to build the team, go 6-11 b/c you don't have a QB and have a high draft pick as the key asset to obtain one, than spending a high pick early on a reach for a young QB, slowing the roster building and go 9-8 for years and never get over the hump.

People keep saying that Lurie will never fire Howie no matter what.  Well he doesn't have to fire him.  He could give him a different position, like when Chip was GM, and hire a real GM.  Maybe let him run the cheerleading department or something.

Same with Matt Corral.  He has a good game vs Bama his stock will rise.

So he can go into hibernation for 2 years and take over again?  Doesn't that still count as GM for life?  Howie would be the cicada of GMs.

Looks like you and I are driving the wagon for Ridder.

Biggest test of maybe his college career tomorrow against Norte Dame.

One unfortunate thing for Jalen Hurts...he's the wrong guy at the wrong time.

Most (young) new QB's are a celebration.  Enthusiasm and excitement from fans and franchise alike about their new guy.

The other side of that coin are the temp starting QB's.  Their talent, upside, and passing prowess are more in line with Jalen Hurts.  They aren't in the constant line of fire or over-analysis.  You get what you can from them, everyone enjoys their highs and just looks to the horizon on their lows.  But Hurts didn't quite fit that label either; he is a big name 23 year old Alabama championship winning QB, Oklahoma heisman candidate...who the Eagles and some media outlets tried to hype up a bit as QB1.

As a result, the best comparison is and remains Tim Tebow, both in playing style and in circumstance.

I don't see that as likely. He's had too much power for too long to go back to another position without it being a weird environment. He'd probably try to keep influencing things like free agency, drafts etc. Best to just be a clean break like they did with Banner.
