In no way do I feel at all like a millenial.  Growing up, we were referred to as Gen Z but now they just lump us in with millenials.   Hell no.

I placed collect calls as a kid, I played outside all day, I remember life before 9/11

I thought Gen Z technically started in like 1997? Your childhood sounds like mine, and I was born in 1979.

Collect calls...that takes me back.

Does anyone really think they were going to add a player on offense at #53 that would have been a difference maker as a rookie? Or that Chinn would have made a big difference on defense?

Most of the improvement in any offseason comes from 2nd and 3rd year players stepping up, not from rookies. Usually rookies who make a difference are top picks and injury replacements, and maybe one guy coming out of nowhere.

So this year? Smith. That's about it. Dickerson is depth, Williams is probably 2-3 years from being an impact player, the rest of the draft, check back in two years. The difference makers this year will be 2nd year players, Reagor, Watkins and 3rd year players, Mailata.

So the Hurts pick was pretty irrelevant to the 2020 collapse. And if Wentz was bothered by it, good riddance, was Brady bothered by Garoppolo?

Minshaw is not a good example of the availability of backup QBs, we got him cheap b/c we could stash him for a month or two, most teams at this point in the season don't want to bring in a new backup QB who doesn't know their system. But look at the backup QBs around the league, most teams can write off their season if forced to play them. Had Jax made Minshaw available in the spring they'd have gotten a better draft pick. Eagles were lucky to have Foles as their backup, he was an unusual situation, played at a high level off the bench here, but was a total flop when given a chance to start.

Um...yes. So much so that we went and cried to Kraft, who forced Bill to trade Jimmy G away.

How does 6 TD and 4 INT put a QB on pace for 27 TD and 11 INT?

It’s been a long time since I’ve been in school but this feels like math by cherry-picking

The only answer is that it is based on total TDs... 9 total TDs is to 27 (1/3) as 4 INTs is to 12 (1/3)... just can't figure out why they deducted 1 INT.    That's the funny business.  But, if they are counting total TDs, then why not count total turnovers?   So, 18 fumbles, and 6 fumbles lost.

Well even if there wasn't a year one impact...Chinn would be in his 2nd year now, and our super massive black hole at safety wouldn't be so dire...

It was Hurts fist three starts extrapolated over a season. His 4th start wasn't included and doesn't count for very obvious reasons.

Yea, for some reason he's popping up in my feeds again.  Not sure what algorithm is making that happen.  Always enjoyed the "would you look at that" and the "pssh" stuff.

Gen X is 65 to 80.  Millenial is 81 to 96.  Gen Z is 96 to 2010.  Gen Alpha is post 2010.

Are you really saying Jeremy Chinn wouldn't have made a difference here?

116 tackles, 2 fumble return TD's, 2 forced fumbles, INT...the guy is a difference maker and that's as a rookie.

I remember when my wife and I were first married having a budget for long distance calls.  Her folks were 50 miles away in Galveston but long distance.   Now cell phones cost extrapolated to a dollar value from that year would show that cell phones cost more by about 40% but that is probably data and tests.  I couldn’t very well do entertainment, internet, emails and texts on my land line and it certainly wasn’t portable.   You are also old enough to recall roaming charges.

Quite frankly, there's no one we could have drafted at #21 last year that would have been  more of an impact than Reagor in their rookie season.

Afan: there was no one at 53 nor chinn that could’ve made a big impact at 53 as a rookie

Meanwhile the Eagles: drafted miles sanders at 53 in 2019 and had a big impact the second half of the season.

False.  2019 draft, we took JJAWful.  WR's drafted after him that made a difference.

Metcalf, 64th selection, 58, 900 yards and 7 TD's

Diontae Johnson, 66th selection, 59 catches 680 yards and 5 TD's

Terry McLaurin, 76th selection, 58 catches for 919 yards and 7 TD's

Hunter Renfrow, 149th selection, 49 catches for 605 yards and 4 TD's

Darius Slayton, 171st selection, 48 catches for 780 yards and 8 TD's.

You keep coming up with these self made narratives to defend Howie.  The problem with him is he is bad at drafting, and you keep moving the goal posts and what is a good pick, what picks succeed, blah, blah, blah.  We have a 2nd round pick, who after this year, year 3, will not match the production of any of these guys first year.

And of course, you will take one of two options any time I destroy your narrative.

A.  Absurdly move the goal post.

B.  Not respond at all.

I saw this on a dateline episode i was watching a couple nights ago. It’s almost like howie is a cult leader and afan is part of the cult.

@LeanMeanGM bold prediction: Nelson with a pick 6

For those of you who aren't married:

Find you a woman who defends you like afan defends Howie.

@LeanMeanGM nfl style bold prediction: mahomes shows he’s finally proven in year 4 as a starter against the browns.
