I'll take these point by point.

Hurts not having any quit in his isn't something to really hang our hat on.  A lot of sub-par QBs had no quit, but also had no talent.  Hurts isn't seeing the field well at all.  I'm not seeing much growth from him in the important areas.  At the end of the half during that off-sides call where he flushed the pocket, pointed down field and then proceeded to chuck the ball 2 yards out of bounds and 4 yards beyond his WR illustrates a lack of arm talent.  He had a free play, knew he had a free play and didn't even give his guy a chance to make a play - so the real outcome was that he just ended up wasting time rather than trying to make a play.

I'm not worried about who we are beating or losing to.  What I am looking for is improvement.  But, I am seeing the SAME MISTAKES constantly, and that's not improvement.  We have WRs that still don't know how to run a rub route without getting an OPI called on them.  We have a QB that still doesn't understand that he can't hold the ball so long on an RPO or a screen and allows his OL to head down field and get called.   At least Barnett eased up on that play where he could have taken a PF for a late hit on the QB but he let go at the last moment... (and I mentioned it at the time), maybe that was improvement, but I don't see him here long term any more either way.  I expect when the ball is lying on the ground in the end zone that the QB would have the awareness to jump on it, rather than try to pick it up. That's high school level awareness.  I also expect that the HC would RUN THE BALL with his best RB and take some pressure off his inexperienced QB, especially when he's struggling.  And I said that after the game as well, once the emotions of the game passed. 11 carries for Sanders.  2 carries for Gainwell.  9 carries for Hurts.  That's not a recipe for success, and its not like this game was ever really out of reach, they were in it the whole time, so there was no reason to abandon the run... interestingly, when they started running the ball, the offense worked better.  The defense played much better, Davion Taylor came in and the run defense seemed a bit better.  And more importantly, they put in Taylor and got Wilson out of the game.  Now we need to get Singleton out of the game and play Edwards.

But, the last line is the most frustrating portion of ALL of this... and the hope I have is that ultimately we'll see a change at GM, but I don't think that we will... even if this team gets embarrassed, like I expect, on Thursday... like they were on that Monday Night in Dallas.  Another scape goat will be sacrificed to protect Howie... and that is what has really soured me on this organization and Lurie.  If you want to know why I am more negative now... it's Howie Roseman and a complete lack of belief that he has any clue what he's doing or can build a team with an identity.

Has to be him, Kyler, Mahomes, Rodgers or Dak. Maybe Brady, Lamar or Allen join that conversation too

Herbert >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hurts

Not sure how you can watch the team and not come away seeing he’s an upgrade over Doug’s scheme already

What part of the scheme do you like? The 30 WR screens per game that go for one yard per attempt?

Or the offensive penalties they get for the same stuff over and over every week that never get corrected?

This Browns/Chargers game has been awesome.

Ah the youth generation. your generation is the reason the NFL sets all the rules for the offense to succeed and turned the game soft. Ill take a hard fought defensive battle game over high scoring offenses any day of the week.

Maybe the scoring 30+ points twice already this season when they didn’t for 19 straight games under Doug’s scheme …. with a bottom-tier starting QB pulling the trigger

We clash a lot but I must say, very well said. Howie Roseman and the front office has finally ran this team into the ground.

My fear is at the end of all this Gannon or Sirianni maybe Hurts will pay for Howie’s/Lurie’s sins.

Yes

It's hard to evaluate Sirianni with Hurts at QB. I don't think most fans and media realize how terrible this offense would be with Hurts dropping back and throwing the ball downfield like the top offenses in the league do. You're not going to have a great offense with a QB who can't throw it well... not sure what people expect from Sirianni.

It was against two awful defenses, not sure that's anything to write home about. The scheme itself has not impressed me. That's more circumstance than scheme.

Yep. Hurts couldn’t lick the dirt from Herbert’s cleats.

Are they really talking about suspending Gruden over a PRIVATE email over ten years ago when he wasn't even in the league?

Right now, I'd settle for a game with out an OPI called on a WR on a rub route.   As a former WR coach, I think that's a good place to start.

Tone it down man lol

Chargers converted on practically all of the 4th downs and Herbert had a great game. Browns ran the ball very well. I don't think it was a matter of defenses sucking. Just the offenses had really great games. The back and forth was fun to watch

I say it’s 50/50 in terms of fault. Hurts is a limited QB true but Sirianni’s play calling has been awful.

Eagles Defense and Special teams was huge today and masked a lot of Sirianni’s mistakes.

Seems Gannon plays Milton at DE mostly in 34 looks and then inside in 43 looks.

I love his motor, dude is always running and chasing. Seems he played a lot today

I also always thought Maddox might be better at FS, not sure he can hold up all year though, though in Gannon's system doesn't seem the safeties are super involved in the run game as Gannon has them 20 yards off the ball

Today was the first time I saw Anthony Harris flash on a run play.  He read and diagnosed perfectly and flew up to make the play near the LOS.

I don't think most people know bad play calling when they see it... just bad results. They're not the same thing.

@Iggles_Phan i thought the defense and special teams did a great job in this game. Defense was getting after darnold which the panthers line is bad. And they finally were making some picks and turnovers. Special teams had the block but also the huge field goal right before the end of the first half. Honestly hats off to elliott he’s been much better this year.

that said i thought the offense was frankly bad outside of 3 drives. The drive right before halftime to get a field goal. The drive in the 3rd quarter to bring it back to 15-13 and when they punched it in after the blocked punt. Otherwise it was a really hard watch. Similar to how the offense looked for long portions of the niners and Dallas games. Which when we play teams like atlanta and KC who’s defenses stink we are fine. But we have to see improvements in games not just against bad defenses like the giants, Washington and jets later in the year. we were fortunate that was a safety not a touchdowns. But the ball bounced our way.

i have to go back and re-watch the game pass but seemed like the oline was ok. Not great but solid enough. Penalties are still an issue hurting the eagles. We missed some throws and the running game still isn’t clicking. But defensively and ST were good.

The point is that with a QB like Herbert you are a contender, with Hurts not so much. The comparison elucidates where we need to go and where we are.

Hey we finally had a game without illegal touching called. Progress.
