Yea, and I should finish that thought or rephrase it.  I wasn't implying that Smith won't put up yardage and make big plays because as you alluded to, he is always open.  He was 7 for 77 today, not a bad day.  Steady, almost Jordan Matthews kind of production.  I just think Toney is going to make more of the tweetable, instant reaction, joystick move kind of highlights.

Like Smith, and he does to seem to be always open but he had a rough game today

1 drop 1 fumble. Not good, needs to clean those up

Glad you had a good time, and I hope you gave the turd fans a calendar.

EPA is used in QBR I believe, which probably  means Hurts QBR rating took another hit, it was around 38 before the game.   Not to be confused with passer rating, which is completely useless.

It’s not updated for season total but for the game he was 31.4 QBR. Passer rating sucked too, it was somewhere in the 60’s

I mean they should just copy every play the Bills run.

I had no idea Allen had that streak going in the redzone. That's impressive

Yea, not good for him.  I said it earlier in the week but I feel the offense and Hurts limited ability as a QB are going to hold him back from reaching his full potential.  With the amount he's been open, a good quarterback should be feeding him. He easily could have had over 100 yards in every game this year.

I thought he could rejuvenate his career in Carolina. Oh well...

KC looks to be in trouble early.

Better play.  He gets abused on pass protection.

Dickerson has been good apart from the 1st half vs. Dallas and the first 2 series vs. SF. He was good against KC. The interior OL was good today.

I just noticed against Dallas his QBR was 9.5, damn that’s ignorant. If you complete a ton of passes behind the LOS, EPA is gonna crush you.

NVM.  Buffalo didn't take advantage.

Hurts for a 2nd round pick

I'll take these point by point.

Hurts not having any quit in him isn't something to really hang our hat on.  A lot of sub-par QBs had no quit, but also had no talent.  Hurts isn't seeing the field well at all.  I'm not seeing much growth from him in the important areas.  At the end of the half during that off-sides call where he flushed the pocket, pointed down field and then proceeded to chuck the ball 2 yards out of bounds and 4 yards beyond his WR that illustrates a lack of arm talent.  He had a free play, knew he had a free play and didn't even give his guy a chance to make a play - so the real outcome was that he just ended up wasting time rather than trying to make a play.

I'm not worried about who we are beating or losing to.  What I am looking for is improvement.  But, I am seeing the SAME MISTAKES constantly, and that's not improvement.  We have WRs that still don't know how to run a rub route without getting an OPI called on them.  We have a QB that still doesn't understand that he can't hold the ball so long on an RPO or a screen and allows his OL to head down field and get called.   At least Barnett eased up on that play where he could have taken a PF for a late hit on the QB but he let go at the last moment... (and I mentioned it at the time), maybe that was improvement, but I don't see him here long term any more either way.  I expect when the ball is lying on the ground in the end zone that the QB would have the awareness to jump on it, rather than try to pick it up. That's high school level awareness.  I also expect that the HC would RUN THE BALL with his best RB and take some pressure off his inexperienced QB, especially when he's struggling.  And I said that after the game as well, once the emotions of the game passed. 11 carries for Sanders.  2 carries for Gainwell.  9 carries for Hurts.  That's not a recipe for success, and its not like this game was ever really out of reach, they were in it the whole time, so there was no reason to abandon the run... interestingly, when they started running the ball, the offense worked better.  The defense played much better, Davion Taylor came in and the run defense seemed a bit better.  And more importantly, they put in Taylor and got Wilson out of the game.  Now we need to get Singleton out of the game and play Edwards.

But, the last line is the most frustrating portion of ALL of this... and the hope I have is that ultimately we'll see a change at GM, but I don't think that we will... even if this team gets embarrassed, like I expect, on Thursday... like they were on that Monday Night in Dallas.  Another scape goat will be sacrificed to protect Howie... and that is what has really soured me on this organization and Lurie.  If you want to know why I am more negative now... it's Howie Roseman and a complete lack of belief that he has any clue what he's doing or can build a team with an identity.

Take a breath.  I try to be a realistic pragmatist, optimist when it comes to my teams.  I actually have seen improvement with Hurts from last year through today.  Today he stayed in the pocket. When he did scramble, he kept his eyes downfield.  His accuracy, especially when scrambling needs work.  He is still a bit slow with his reads but I do think he is seeing more of the field.  I don’t think we can expect an overnight transition but by the same token, I don’t think he has plateaued.  Patience. Of course, I am influenced by not wanting some dumb trade for a QB or spending way to much draft capital on one either  Not a good year for QBs and frankly, my distaste for the 2021 QBs may pan out as I thought

Until they were preserving a lead, the run game wasn’t working. It does seem that the strategy against the Eagles has been, stop the run and make the Eagle receivers and Hurts be the ones to beat the opponent and try to out score what the Eagles D has given up.  We saw adjustments on offense and defense this week. Plus some pretty stellar ST play.  That resulted in a win but also took advantage of the strategy to beat the Eagles. Hurts, the receivers and the defense won this game.

No one, except AFan, is going to argue with you about Howie.  I don’t think you want him gone anymore quickly than Veej (and me).  Frankly, a little bit of me worries every time the Eagles make some progress that such allows Lurie to give Howie a little more rope.  I was in management too long though to believe any organization the size of the Eagles does have evaluation metrics for every employee and that Howie’s look pretty bad post Super Bowl. That part of me wants to believe Howie is on a short leash. (It’s not what have you done for me in the past.  It is what have you done for me lately and more importantly, what do I expect you will do for me in the future.  Well this year will be a second not only without a playoff berth but also without a record of .500 or above.  Jeff hasn’t had many of those and that resulted in the GM getting fired. ) I also look at Lurie’s age and have to think that with next year’s assets he has to recognize the risk to winning going forward if Howie’s trend continues.  I have doubts the team will do well enough for Lurie not to pull the lever on his gallows after the season.  I think I was one of the lowest win total prognosticators in here (that hurts the folks that label me an apologist so they ignore that) and today’s win was one that I predicted.  I bet it was a projected win  for most of you that projected seven wins.  Howie is still on course for getting fired.

I can't see Hurts for anything other than Hurts.  The fact that the QB pool looks weak this year in the draft... and that I hate the idea of the trade for a QB... doesn't change the fact that Hurts' improvement (if there is any) has been very slow.  That throw today... 🤦‍♂️. how do you throw a free play out of bounds?  That's like throwing the ball away on 4th and goal...  Hurts can run.  But, it seems to me, any time he doesn't run he can't throw.  Once he starts to run more, he throws better.   Maybe that's the key.  Get his legs involved and his arm will follow.  I don't know.  I don't like that type of offense and I don't like the overly weighted horizontal throws.  The middle of the field still seems rather voided in terms of targets.

Bad play by Mahomes... running around and just slid down?  I guess he was afraid of the OL going down field and that's why he didn't just throw it out the back of the End Zone.  Seemed an unnecessary hit to take.

He had the fumble which was bad.  I think they really aren’t utilizing him in ways that could let him make more dynamic plays.  He’s a very good receiver.

That play looked a lot like Hollywood... trying to get a shovel pass to Hill... but they got the TD on a simple rollout.

Not sure why the roll out isn't more a part of the Eagles' RZ offense...

He would have had a TD... except our WRs can't run a rub route properly.

2 whipped eggs, a cup of bread crumbs.  Was worried putting it together that it wouldn't hold.  Worked perfect though!
