Kinda weird the Chiefs and the Eagles have the same record.

Tbh the eagles have a lot of winnable games left on their schedule. At raiders, at lions, at broncos, at jets, 2 games against the giants and WFT. I’d argue even the saints game is winnable as don’t know which Jameis they are going to get week to week. I don’t think they win all those games but i wouldn’t be surprised if they go 4-5 or 5-4 in them. Gets them to 6-11 or 7-10. Only games i really expect them to just get crushed are Bucs, chargers and potentially last game of the season against Dallas depending on what Dallas has on the line.

Yeah for those rooting for draft position, they need to turn their attention to the dolphins, that’s our best hope for a strong draft pick. I don’t think Eagles are amongst worst teams in the league, I would say they they’re in the 20-24 range. They’ll handle the really bad teams(ATL), should have competitive matchups against below average teams(CAR), hang in games against average teams maybe even pull off a win(SF), and get beat by good- strong teams (DAL & KC).

It was a nice play not the best today. And except for that short field drive at the end of the game he was horrible. He's not elite. Nowhere close.

I’m not saying o disagree. That play just looked like something we’d usually see out of Wentz. Hopefully he can put it all together.

Last night I texted my friend who’s a panthers fan and said this is a game that the Eagles are going to win. You’re going to think it’s crazy but when you look at the matchup if Sam Darnold doesn’t have a clean pocket and McCaffrey is out they’re gonna be in trouble. It’s exactly what happened. The Panthers oline Is still one of the worst in the league. It was an issue last year even with Teddy Bridgewater.

And when you watch the Panthers through 5 games (besides the Dallas game) because the oline is not good they tend to keep teams in games. The Jets, the Texans, the Eagles and even the saints until midway through the 4th were all kept in those games.  they couldn’t put them away because the oline gets beat and then darnold turns into a mess.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t think Sam Darnold anything special. He has his own issues. but that oline is bad and McCaffrey is being out really hurts them in the passing game.

Dallas yes, KC isn’t all that, just against a horrible defense they are.

Used my seven in one air fryer for a rotisserie chicken today.  Used a buttermilk brine.  Turned out real nice.  Crispy skin on a rotisserie chicken is a first for me.  (Figured the wife needed a break from my end of the season pepper harvest cooking.)   Curious, what is the stuffed pepper on your plate?

Just a bell with cream cheese, crab and sriracha seasoning (powder, my fav seasoning).  Just kept it super simple.

Slay hasn't showed up until today

The fact that he's been non existent all season till today is a good thing.  If you don't see a CB on anything other than tackle support that's a good thing.  Interceptions are great and all, but top end CB's rarely show on the stat sheet.

I kind talked about this last week with seeing hurts improve each game over this stretch, you wanted to see what the Eagles offense led by hurts could do against this run of good defenses. Later in the season after this stretch of the Bucs, raiders, lions (outside of them), broncos, chargers and saints, the defenses they play down the stretch of season is a dramatic drop off (left Dallas off cause by week 18 don’t know if Dallas even plays guys due to playoff seeding being locked in).

The Eagles should see a dramatic improvement on their offense after the saints game because they’re gonna face a lot of really bad defenses outside of saints, broncos and chargers. So they probably move the ball like in the Chiefs game but you’re doing it against some of the worst competition in the league.

It’s why i said the games I’m really looking forward to see if hurts improves each game are the Buccaneers, raiders, broncos, chargers and saints. The stretch from week 5 to 11 is going to tell us a lot about the offense and QB position. This isn’t just hurts either. Sirianni needs to show improvement as well and adjustments to make his offense get better each week against this competition. If by the end of that Saints game the offense is still struggling and hurts is as inconsistent then I think you have your answer to the quarterback question. Because what he does against the Giants or the Jets or the Washington football team isn’t the same. The Eagles have shown they can play well against bad defenses. In the Falcons and Chiefs games they’re averaging 31 points. Against the Panthers, Cowboys and Niners they’re only averaging 15 points. That’s a problem tells me against better defenses we’re not able to do much

Not noticing Dillard is a great thing at this point IMO.  That tells me he's doing his job.  Mailata got abused.  It's to be seen what he actually can be at RT with a few more games and a healthy knee but today was not the day.

He gave up back to back sacks, but outside of that protection overall all game was stellar.

Oh yeah agreed. I thought Eagles chances of winning this solely rested on CMC’s health, pretty sure I posted about it in here before the game too. I think Panthers are on the cusp(as in 1-2 seasons away) of being a threat in NFC, but it depends on development of all the highly drafted players on their defense,  if they can land a good consistent QB, and improve their OL.

Disagree about KC, they’re still a legit Super Bowl team. 4 of their last 5 opponents have been their biggest threats to AFC crown, and KC is 1-3 in that stretch. Rough start for them sure, but it’s not like they’re losing to average or below average teams. The games they’ve lost, outside of the Bills (been my Super Bowl pick btw) have all been within 6 points. We’ve known that Bills, Chargers, Browns, and Ravens are just a tick below the Chiefs and it’d only be a matter of time until they’re on even playing fields.

Hell he was due.

Yeah he was and finally he gave back to a defense and a ST that gave him a lot of opportunities yesterday.

Tbh I think the Panthers are really an offensive line away from being a legitimate playoff team. That is their biggest weakness. When you look at their defense their secondary is going to be stacked once Gilmore gets out there and horn gets back out there. They have good DL, good skill position players on offense.

Now if you want to say Sam Darnold isn’t good enough to get them to a Super Bowl or championship I won’t disagree with you. I think he could be a good quarterback if he’s playing behind a better oline. But I’d agree to win a super bowl i think they need an upgrade

But you’re seeing in the league right now if you don’t have an elite quarterback I don’t think you are going to win a super bowl.  And I say that because I look at the Browns as the perfect example of this. I don’t think baker Mayfield is in a top-tier quarterback. And when push comes to shove and the Browns need him to make a play against the best teams, he hasn’t done it. The great quarterbacks in this league Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Tom Brady and mahomes make plays in big moments to win games (or have shown to do so in the past). The Chargers game today, the browns were up 42-41. He missed a throw on second down and third down and 9 they didn’t even trust him to make the throw try to win that game and ran it with hunt.

Man I could not agree more with this, and I have been on the Baker side ever since he’s been drafted. I still think he can have a successful career with Pro bowls to his name, maybe even a SB title. But I witnessed that today against the Chargers. He had that last drive with only minutes left in the game, threw like 2-3 deep passes, and one of em was on 4th down!! First time I was ok, I get it you’re looking to hopefully get PI. But then I was like dude, you just have to sustain a drive and you have plenty of time. What’s with these shots at big time plays facing double coverage? I lost faith in Baker today.

Herbert is a superstar btw. I’m excited to follow his career. He’ll be like the chiefs to me with Mahomes, I’ll watch as many of his games I can

If you go back to the Chiefs game in week one it was the same thing. After that botched punt and the Chiefs took the lead 33-29, he still had a chance to lead them down the field and win the game. But he couldn’t make the throws necessary and made poor decisions. That team thrives when Nick Chubb and Hunt are running out of their minds and if they had a QB like herbert or even watson, i don’t know if they are 3-2 right now. It just feels like if they had an upgrade from baker that team is even scarier then what they are.

It’s funny because I was watching the chargers game with my friend who is a die hard Browns fan. I said to him if you guys replace baker Mayfield right now with Deshaun Watson (assuming he could play) you’re telling me that the browns aren’t more dangerous team and you feel better about them in big time matchups? Don’t get me wrong the Browns defense today was absolutely atrocious. Their defense lost them this game as well. I kind of put this with how the rams line of thinking was. I think he’s way better than Goff. He’s good just not great. Until you get that great then i don’t see the browns being a favorite to win a title. They’ve proven over the past two years to continuously lose to the chiefs and Baltimore and the game tended to come down to a QB making and not making a play(s).

Some random thoughts, all simple and mostly obvious stuff:

Singleton - He sucks.  Keep him on special teams only.  Course we don't have much at the position since we simple don't invest into it.

CBs - I've been thinking all year that we are much much better at this position then we've been for some time.  Far from great but we finally have a decent set again and yesterday they were excellent.

DL - A solid pass rush yet again.  Hargrave is the perfect compliment to Cox and the DEs are getting decent push upfield even without Graham.  They need to do a better job against the run though.

Slim Reaper - If he doesn't break in two he looks like he is going to be a very solid pro receiver.  Perhaps not pro bowl level but none the less a very good player.  Seems like a lighter, smoother, and better version of Jeremy Maclin to me and Maclin was solid.

Reagor - Needs to just take the touchback.

He really does suck. I think he's a fine depth guy. He's the kind of guy you do want on your roster. Like he tries hard, he battles, he makes a lot of tackles (yes I know they are mostly all 10 yards too late) and you know at least he's going to give you something if you need him. But he should not be a starter and he shouldn't even be the first back up. Taylor needs to play more.

Exactly. A special teams depth player.

I think Smith is going to end up being a top 5 league receiver in a very short amount of time.

I agree I think he will too. He's really really damn good already and he's going to get better.

Well at least I'll be able to see our Thursday night game.

Wow the refs all day today have been horrific. Every game I watch has had like 20+ penalties.

Ya know, we put it on the refs, but most of the time, the calls are right, so how about we look at it another way, ever since the new CBA with the much greater limit on practice time, penalties are up... its almost like practicing more might help alleviate stupid penalties.
