I haven't watched a Colts game this year... Reich seems to have done a nice job rebuilding Wentz's confidence and helped him get back to where he was pre-2020.   He still makes some bad plays, but seems to be doing very well in that Indy system.

Losing Reich still stings so much.

Reich was thrilled with Wentz last week. Said thats the Carson they were expecting and know he can be. Reich got him to quit the hero ball sheet.

Teams are figuring out the Ravens offense, and their defense isn’t nearly as good as past years

Haven't watched a lot of Ravens games this year but defenses also don't seem scared to hit Jackson like they used to IMO

Colts beating Ravens will be an enormous help with not benching Wentz & getting us closer to that first rounder

Looks like it tonight.   And he had a very limited PS.

Colts have a chance to go on a nice run here. Their schedule after the first 5 games is really nice for the next five. Got Houston, at SF, titans jets, and jags. They could go 4-1 in that stretch if not 5-0. Winning tonight would be huge for them. If they go 4-1 over the next five they’d be sitting at 6-4 heading into the bills and Bucs games. Finish off with Houston, New England, Arizona, raiders and jags. Could be 6-6 and finish 10-7

however this game appears to not be over yet

Freaking McDaniels screwed them. You are right about it still stinging.

Even if colts lose this, they have to feel really good about where they are as a team to stay competitive against one of the AFC heavyweights

He probably would of been gone at some point probably the year after. I doubt they would.of promoted Reich over Doug. So even without the McDaniels situation he IMO he would of been gone the following year.

Are the Ravens fans spelling R-A-V-E-N-S?   They are so original.

What the hell is a crosser?

Jonathon Taylor.... great back.

Ravens don't strike me as a AFC heavyweight.

I think Hurts is a guy you want around your team... and in a backup QB role.  I don't see him as a long term starter.

That said, I don't think the long-term answer at QB is available in this draft either... so...

I am not sold on Hurts. I am also not saying that he doesn’t have potential. He’s a young QB with flaws. His lack of an elite arm is one of the issues. I don’t think that is what keeps him from being a franchise QB.  He has enough upside as an athletic QB to warrant  an extended chance to see if he can progress.  I think his good plays outweighed his bad plays on Sunday. The pass to Watkins, 4 big option runs (including the TD and game sealing run), pass to Goedert and 2pt conversion throw to Smith were all big plays at key times. They don’t make him a franchise QB but if he gets more consistent and eliminates some of the mistakes then maybe we think differently.

They’re definitely up there, they did beat the Chiefs. We’ll have a good matchup next week with them facing the Chargers

Whoa.

When did the Ravens sign Lebron to block kicks?

Chiefs are not having a good year. So it's hard to tell if that is the Chiefs having a down year or the Ravens are that good this year.

Calais Campbell gotta get a ring man…one of most underrated guys of past 10 years

Hurts combines a below average arm with a below average frame with below average passing sophistication (pocket presence, progressions, decision speed).  You can’t have all 3 of those strikes against you as a passer.  You just can’t.

The fact that he is accurate on dump offs and a very good athlete is not remotely redeeming enough to expect anything long term.

Why would you hurry up when time is on your side?

This is Andy Reid like clock management.

These are nice and all, but these are plays that are used to cover up a QB's deficiencies as a passer, IMO.  They don't go into the evaluation for me.  I don't want to have the QB be an integral part of my running attack (of course, this team doesn't really have a running game to talk about).

That is something that makes him a good backup QB, because he can make up for things with his athleticism.   But, as the starter, he needs to prove that he can make the plays within the structure of the offense (passing offense).   In that area he has shown major deficiencies so far.  And one of them is really the arm talent aspect.  There are throws you see other starting QBs make routinely in tight windows that we just have never seen Hurts make.  He needs big windows to feel comfortable unleashing the ball.

Almost turned this game off 3 times tonight.

Surprisingly entertaining quarter of football.
