Exactly, he is getting back on track you don't risk screwing that up. They will get their opportunities to put a few wins together as their schedule lightens up

I’d argue they might have had the toughest five game slate of any team besides Miami on their schedule. Seattle with Wilson, rams, titans, Miami and Baltimore. I’d have to look at everyone’s schedule but that seems like it would be one of the toughest

KC might be the only team with a tougher schedule. They got browns, Baltimore, chargers, eagles and bills. That’s a combined 18-9. It’s why when people ask will KC turn it around? Yeah they have this as the rest of their schedule Washington, titans, ny, GB, Vegas, Dallas, Denver, Vegas, chargers, Steelers, bengals, Denver. Good chance KC likely gets hot and very realistically could go 9-3 or better down the stretch.

Won't be as fun playing him in his house.

If we get lucky with the flukey 17th game, first chance of that is 2024 otherwise we have to wait until 2026 and by then I bet both teams are dramatically different.

But it may turn out that Toney + 2023 first + change > Devonta Smith

Exactly why I want to trade back in a similar fashion this year. Stay in the top 12 or so while gaining additional picks. This team needs an entire new defense. They just have to make the right pick... I'm not suggesting trading back into the twenties either so there will be plenty of high quality talent to choose from

Do people actually think that the Colts will allow Wentz to play enough to give us a 1st if they’re out of contention? Let alone a top 10 pick?

Nope

I might not be able to wear my jersey that day. Only have one and it's him.

You are probably right but I hope they don't lol.

By then we won't even have running backs! All receivers all day mo fo!

The year is 2026, Ben Simmons still doesn’t shoot, eagles still trying to find a franchise QB, Phillies missed the postseason for 15 consecutive years and the flyers are still waiting to bring up Morgan frost as a full time nhl player. Life can’t get any better lmao

Worst case scenario and would be the worst move of Howie's career. That said, him being benched in that game likely ended his upper first round fate.

I think Willis is gonna be the first QB drafted. I suspect with his traits he'll shine at the combine and GMs will talk themselves into him being special.

The 3 interceptions against Middle Tennessee this past weekend didn’t help his cause.
Right now it’s a toss up, no one thought Herbert, or Mahomes were going to be as good as they are.

A lot of it comes down to the team that drafts them, Mahomes was helped out big time going to the Chiefs with Reid, and Daboll has worked really well with Allen.  One thing they all had in common including Herbert is their arm talent.

What a time to be alive!!

Ben turns it around on the refs and starts complaining and throwing a fit whenever he gets fouled and the refs call it lol.

Assuming Hurts doesn’t progress and isn’t the guy going forward, you know some way somehow the eagles are either trading for a QB or taking one in the draft (also chance it requires a trade). Got to hope we make the right decision either way if it comes to that.

Rewatching the game and have a couple of random observations…

* Seems like Taylor got a lot of his playing time against 12 and 21 personnel. It wasn’t every snap, but it was a vast majority of them, at least in the first three quarters.

* Hargrave was incredible. Duh.

* Very quietly, Barnett and Avery were really good

* Hurts’ mechanics have been discussed ad nauseum, but holy cow did he wreck any chance for completions on that free play to Reagor and the interception to Ertz with some wonky footwork.

* Maddox has had a nice season, but Anderson had him beat for two TDs. The first one was dropped in the end zone, and the second was a deep shot Darnold led upfield instead to open space toward the middle of the field.

* Milton Williams had a quasi pressure on Slay’s second interception. I wouldn’t say it led to the pick, but Darnold definitely didn’t look comfortable in the pocket. He also had one play where he showed some elite quickness off the snap. It was the final play of the third quarter.

* I saw some stuff elsewhere about Sirianni not going for 2 when Carolina jumped offsides with the score at 15-12. The XP seemed like a no-brainer to me in that situation.

To add on to this when i rewatched

— hurts has to fall on the fumble after the botched snap. Do not try to pick it up because it nearly went for a touchdown which could’ve really changed the entire game

— josh sweat played his best game of the season imo. He was very active.

— they need to get goedert more involved. He only had 3 targets. I felt like he could’ve done more damage. Ertz got 6 targets and only caught 1 (some not his fault like hurts pass deep down the sideline). He’s too good and a mismatch to just have 3 targets. Reagor shouldn’t be getting more than goedert

— incredible that sanders was targeted five times, caught all 5 for 6 yards. If we are going to use a back in the pass game it really should just be gainwell. Just a gut feeling, I have a feeling the front office likes sanders much more than the coaching staff.

— I don’t know about you, but i don’t know what to do with reagor. He had a miserable block attempt in the game and when you watch at times his body language is just bad. It felt a lot like predraft where if things weren’t going right or his way he just kind of goes through the motions. I would start taking snaps away from him and giving more to Watkins. Maybe give some snaps to gainwell in the slot to have Watkins, smith and gainwell out there. At this point there has to be a light bulb moment for reagor and i don’t know if it’s going to happened.

— thought our pass protection was Solid to good. Only gave up 4 QB hits. Our run blocking was still below average especially from the interior part of the line. Panthers have a good DL so i don’t think it’s just us not doing it well. Got to give credit to the panthers front.

I can’t stand everything about Reagor. He’s a total bust and I don’t care if it’s too early to say that. He looks as miserable as he plays and doesn’t seem to give any effort. It’s inconvenient to him getting paid millions to be out there.

They were 4-11-1 last year and didn't exactly go on a shopping spree, and Howie sacrificed this year to load up for next season in the draft.

Oh, he certainly did, but not by choice, but rather by his bad contracts coming home to roost.  Never fear, they won't be on a spending spree next year either as more contracts will come due.

don't worry, the Eagles won't use it on a defender either.

That should be everyone’s biggest fears. They might very well just draft more Derek Barnett’s and jalen Reagor’s of the world with those picks who are not good enough production to warrant where they were drafted.

Hurts looks up to Cam Newton.  Why, I wouldn’t even begin to understand.   He even did the Superman thing when he scored that TD on Sunday.  Cam Newton refused to fall on a fumble in the Super Bowl.  Maybe he’s just as dumb as Newton.  Or maybe that was another way he was trying to honor him, In his old stadium.

Hurts looked like an idiot doing the superman celebration. Matter of fact no matter what he does he looks like an idiot

Lol
