Instead of arguing over emails, let’s talk about drafting an interior OL with massive injury concerns, justified by "elite can’t miss talent,” who is playing extremely poorly right now….

I've been trying to mention that.  All I get as a response is he didn't have training camp and is learning a new position.

Hated the pick, still do.

I agree... hated it at the time, but the justification was foolish.  The idea that he could step in and immediately be an All-Pro was ridiculous.  I expected a red-shirt year for him, so him getting reps is just fine with me.  I wasn't expecting him to be able to even be on the field yet, so I'm not going to kill him.   Howie, on the other hand, yeah... he's culpable.

Fine we can get back to your happy place.  I’d like to to see the all-22 on Landon.

True, he should have had a redshirt year (horrible use of 2nd round pick, especially after the Sidney Jones saga) but now that he's playing I'm expecting SOME sort of flash from him that shows us, OK that's why they took a huge risk.  He's getting dusted out there.

I don't like the no TC argument because last year, the sloppy looking Nate Herbig, an UDFA, was thrown in to the starting lineup week 1 against the Redskins and held his own.

Dickerson, pick 37 in the draft, has looked worse than Herbig, and UDFA.

Against the chiefs he had the 2nd highest run block rating of all IOL that week, granted it was on only 10 runs so...

I don't think he's been horrible I just think he's not right yet, I didn't hate the pick at all I hate that the eagles rushed him into the starting line up so quickly when there was zero need to do so.

As a result he now has a hurt ankle which isn't uncommon for players coming back from knee surgery.

With his injury history seems risky to play him before he was ready instead of letting him fully heal up.

I would have red shirted him this year and made sure he's fully recovered, it's not like he's going to be the difference between the eagles making the playoffs or not,why rush him???

As a player, he might be totally fine.  Possibly/probably wrongfully rushed him back from injury.  No camp, etc, etc.  If he gets it together and stays healthy, sure, he might be great.  But he's ON the field...so theoretically...he is healthy...and he looks like crap.  Still, takes time.

But the Chiefs are getting better play out of a rookie 6th round IOL right now.  Drafting a non-premium position with major injury concerns #37 overall who staggers out of the gate in year 1 is just a bad way to use your draft picks, per usual with Howie.

Dickerson played center the last two years in Alabama, then comes in at RG, then switches to LG, and you wonder why he's struggling a bit?

It would be one thing if he had a full training camp, but on the fly?

Dickerson was a consensus top 20 pick if healthy, so the fact he's already able to play is a good sign.

Like most of this roster, patience, grasshopper.

Look at Taylor, fell to #104 b/c he was so inexperienced, looked lost last year, may end up starting this year.

Which is why Herbig, at this point in time, makes more sense.  I just fear that Dickerson is going to get injured since he's not quite there yet.  Anytime you overcompensate for an injury you raise the risk of injuring something else like you alluded too.  If I recall you see that a lot with Achilles injuries.

Suuuuuuuure.  You called him a top 15 pick last time you said this.  I guess it's backing up closer to reality.

You mentioned it literally 1.5 games into his career. It was ridiculous.

Pick should have been Trevon Moehrig. Dickerson is damaged goods.

Who in the hell said he could step in and immediately be an all-pro?

Asante Samuel Jr probably

Let's give Landon time though...

Taylor might start because the rest of the LB are the worst in the league.  Let's not act like the fact that he made 4 tackles on Sunday means he's the next William Thomas.  Someone has to start out there.

How patient do you want us to be with your picks Howie?

Reagor looks like trash

Hurts is not the answer at QB

Sounds like you’re really worried about some emails someone might find you sent.  There’s nothing private about sending an email to people in a business calling on them to oppose the Commissioner, fire a player, oppose women referees at their business email address.   He’s a moron for sending them.  How the F does anyone think  that’s private. Even if it was from a personal account to another personal account, there’s nothing that makes an email private.

I'm just really sick of cancel culture and those that support it and take part in it.  It has really ruined our culture in this country.

Also you're thinking very in the context of 2021 with the emails.  This happened 10 years ago.  For context it wasn't until 2013 that Snowden exposed all the widespread spying the NSA does on everyone with all of their communications.  There wasn't some sick thirst in our society yet to try to ruin other people for harmless things they did in their past.

A lot of Dickerson's bad snaps are on RPOs in which Hurts holds the ball too long. He also has dominant snaps. He'll be fine, but inconsistent as most rookies are.

The fact that we keep having to say if healthy about draft picks is a problem

Ascending interior lineman whose outstanding play at Alabama will have to be balanced against the litany of injuries he's sustained. He has a broad, well-built frame with above-average core strength and has true guard/center flexibility, depending on what a team is looking for. Dickerson has average range and reactive athleticism at the second level, but he is capable of short pulls and has the body control technique to help open holes in a downhill attack. The anchor is firm, so halting bull rushers is a check in his column, but his lateral agility could be tested by athletic rushers in sub packages. Teams will love his demeanor on and off the field as well as his football intelligence, but he must prove that he can stay healthy. His size and talent should make him one of the earliest interior linemen off the board.  NFL.com

Ranks for positively graded run-block percentage at center/guard since 2018, per @PFF:

1. Landon Dickerson
10. Trey Smith
14. Wyatt Davis
15. Deonte Brown
16. Kendrick Green
23. Ben Cleveland
37. Aaron Banks
72. Josh Myers
146. Creed Humphrey

People were trashing Reagor after his first game.  Why is it bad to mention it with Dickerson?

Yes, I had to cancel my blackface slave auction party.

Seriously, while there's some weird crap on a few college campuses (but greatly exaggerated since big universities are dominated by their business and engineering schools), most of avoiding cancel culture is common sense, decency and good manners:

Don't ogle women (yes, we're men, but one can discretely survey without staring down her cleavage), no grab ass, no flirting with women subordinates, no getting drunk at the office party and hanging over  a girl twenty years your junior.

Avoid racist and homophobic language, not just the N word but stupid references involving watermelons, bending over, etc.

Np means no, not maybe, avoid wrestling matches, **** shaming, etc.

Treat people decently and with respect, and if you're with a bunch of a-holes, find new friends. People who enjoy nasty humor at the expense of "others," especially those without power or money, aren't really good company for the long haul.

Don't e-mail naked pictures of women without their written consent.

Don't F over people just b/c you can, one of the stories I approve of was a firm that would keep job candidates waiting in a room with a receptionist, then afterward quiz her about their behavior toward her - if they were disrespectful and treated her like the hired help, forget about a return call. Some of the biggest s**ts I've come across were sycophants with those above them but a-holes toward staff.

Follow these rules and I doubt you'll get canceled, and if so, cancel the canceller.

Yup, and it's not like Herbig was a liability last year either or doesn't have any experience

I just don't see the logic in rushing to play Dickerson just doesn't make sense and reeks of Howie meddling.

Okay, that's not good.

But that also isn't what you and others have been so outraged about all day.

Daniel Jeremiah, I think it was him anyway, was talking about how most rookie OL starters are bad.

Funny that they drafted a guy so adept at run blocking when they never run the ball...🤔
