So it's back finally? Did they give you guys some discount for next year or an apology?

No. No apology. And what sucks is you choose between sideline and endzone angles. In past years you got both.

The NFL circled the wagons and used Gruden’s past comments to help Davis out of a bad contract by leaking the emails.  They could care less about the utterances of entertainers in another industry, especially when those entertainers rent stadiums from NFL owners, especially if the general public overlooks that behavior.  Nothing but $$$$ and self preservation drives that billionaires’ club. They are selling us entertainment and that is their focus.

The other thing about Dickerson is that he was an elite road grader in college. We barely ask him to do that. So he had no offseason, minimal training camp and now he has to pass block 70 percent of the time as a rookie.

People didn’t like the pick, so they’re going to get their lashes in, context be damned.

Don’t agree. The DT is well left of the throwing lane. The ball was out on time but missed by a lot.

I think Hurts was totally off the first half, but I blame Sirianni, he was trying to get easy throws for Hurts to get into a rhythm, but it was obvious after the first series Carolina was on top of the WR screen and dump offs - Sirianni has to adjust faster. Hurts ended up in bad situations b/c of bad playcalling.  Hurts looked better in the second half when he had to make plays and the leash was removed.

People are just too impatient, we're five games into the season, there have been ups and downs, but it's not close to a disaster, especially given the schedule. I figure TB is going to whip their butts b/c they don't have the athletes in the back seven to keep up. But after that, I expect to be competitive with the rest of the schedule.

I have been taking the end zone angle.  As bad as the past iteration was, this is probably worse.

well...of course...but it is high time someone steps up as the adult in the room. It isn't just that the optics and messaging is wrong, but the NFL can and should heed the lessons learned from the demise of the NBA

Diehard batteries are around.  Still one of the best rated car batteries.

First I hear Diehard batteries are gone, now the NBA.  Rough day.

I've been trying to mention that.  All I get as a response is he didn't have training camp and is learning a new position.

Hated the pick, still do.

I did the TC excuse a few weeks ago and it was justified IMO since the last time he blocked anyone was in college, in December 2020 . I thought they would of kept him out till late October, not trying to do an Embiid but Dickersons history with serious injuries is bad.
I hated the pick for the same reason most do, way too many injuries and being injured during the draft you have no way to know how he recovered from his last ACL surgery. If he’s lost a step, it doesn’t matter, you drafted him.
Make those picks in the 4th round and up, not in the first 3 on a team that struggles to keep O  Linemen healthy.

So Gronk is out and Brady is dealing with a hand injury. Given the fight in our team, I'll have to say this is going to be a lot closer than people originally thought. Gannon clearly showed he could make the necessary adjustments and our defense looked the part.

@LeanMeanGM taking into account everything I just said:

Bucs 38

Eagles 17

Yep.

While we’re at it can they release the tapes of the Patriots Spygate?

I've mentioned that I'm an equipment and uniform geek.  UCF has started wearing a one off space uniform every year in honor of the space program there.  This years pay tribute to the space shuttle and they are incredible.

My life has never been the same since it came out R Kelly peed on underage girls and got canceled. Damn cancel culture!

I'm just really sick of cancel culture and those that support it and take part in it.  It has really ruined our culture in this country.

Also you're thinking very in the context of 2021 with the emails.  This happened 10 years ago.  For context it wasn't until 2013 that Snowden exposed all the widespread spying the NSA does on everyone with all of their communications.  There wasn't some sick thirst in our society yet to try to ruin other people for harmless things they did in their past.

Spying has gone in for years, the Patriot Act opened it up even more to take the Feds off the hook, the two democrats that didn’t like the bill, had Anthrax sent to them, and I don’t mean in an email or the band.

Mailed right to their offices, and probably had female secretaries open the envelopes, damn misogynistic pigs!!

And the value for a road grading IOL with some agility issues in a pass-dominant league?

In consecutive years, we have spent 2nd round picks on a one read running QB who is asked to drop back and pass 70% of the time, dominant run blocking OG who is asked to pass block 70% of the time, and a running back that is not used.

Now, I'm as pass progressive as it gets.  I think the running game is a device to run out the clock and pick up a few yards here and there when defenses are on their heels from an elite aerial onslaught.  The play calling has always favored this...under Lurie and across multiple HC's (no coincidence).  Fine with me because I mostly agree with it.  Yet the personnel they drafted...befits a physical running offense.

Little too soon for a victory lap on Taylor.  He's still a giant question mark.  But people are so fed up with Wilson (a Howie band aid), folks are desperate for something different.  He's not necessarily better or worthy of starting.  Singleton was puffed up by many here because he was better than the other dreck, but remains a JAG.

You think Singleton was puffed up, how about Fulgham? You would’ve thought we had Harold Carmichael.

Sending anthrax the band may have been worse🤘

That sounds easy, but in practice can be difficult. As can be seen practically every Sunday.

This is true but it doesn't excuse the effort given attempting to salvage the play.

I agree... hated it at the time, but the justification was foolish.  The idea that he could step in and immediately be an All-Pro was ridiculous.  I expected a red-shirt year for him, so him getting reps is just fine with me.  I wasn't expecting him to be able to even be on the field yet, so I'm not going to kill him.   Howie, on the other hand, yeah... he's culpable.

I didn’t hate them taking interior o-line with that pick.  It was a need and there were talented players that were 2nd round picks.  I am not sure Dickerson was one of those players mostly because of his injuries. I’m concerned that we have treated him like a plug and play prospect when he’s still a rookie likely still recovering from the ACL. He is having to compensate for likely having a weaker knee and that has probably contributed to some of his struggles.  My guess is that if he can make it through this season healthy he will be better next season. Of course, he came out on Sunday due to an injury.

To say Dickerson was a road grading guard isn’t to say that he was deficient as a pass blocker. He was a really good pass protector at multiple positions in college.

His agility hasn’t been a problem in the pass protection, but I’ve noticed him struggling to hit a moving target — Parsons for one, and he missed a DB on a Sanders screen on the second level.

I’m rewatching the game now, focusing on only him. He had some clunky double teams, and Brown beat him cleanly for a pressure. He and Dillard had an issue with passing off a player on the deep completion to Quez. Hopefully a month from now he’s ironed those things out. He hurt his ankle and gave up a pressure on a play.

It certainly wasn’t a perfect game (I’m midway through the fourth now), but I think if people watched him closely they wouldn’t be nearly as down on his performance.

As I watched, the more concerned I was about Driscoll. Vaea is going to absolutely destroy him Thursday. He’s simply not strong enough to handle him. I wonder if we should start Herbig over him.
