I get this. My assumption is that as soon as this story came out, he hated the fact that he was inevitably a focal point. I’m sure he just wants to be seen as a regular football player, just like most of us just want him to be spoken of as just a regular football player.

So I can get why he may need a day or two to step away and let everything sink in.

I knew it has that first S and my old man memory was saying Curtis with a misplaced S.  Wasn’t going to research it to clarify. Thanks for the correction.

Ehhhh.  Wrong.  WR is not high enough.  Do it again.

Pickens is coming off an ACL injury otherwise would be a late first/early 2nd rounder

Was just coming to post the same.  I did not here his name last week, which is a good thing I guess.

You and greend must have called each other and planned this earlier this morning.  No chance this can be a coincidence.

PFF disclaimer not withstanding, but Sweat has been good.

Really need to expand your reading beyond a poorly researched and conclusion driven NY Times project. There is accuracy in much of the information but slanted towards the writer’s thesis.

Let’s try that Washington freed his slaves.  Kind of.  His will called for the slaves he owned to be freed on the death of Martha Washington, not his death.  But the reality of it was that the majority of their slaves were Curstis slaves.  Owned by or progeny of slaves of her first husband or descendants of mixed Curstis and Washington slave families and thus Curstis by the property rights of the time.

Remember earlier when I responded to DesertBirds and talked about women having little property rights at the time of our nation’s founding. Well, Martha as a young widow with four children had dower inheritance rights   In other words lifetime use of her husband’s estate but the inheritance rights went to her children, in truth, her son.  Curstis was richer than Washington and owned several plantations and slaves to run them.  Martha couldn’t have freed those slaves if she wanted because the inheritance really flowed to Curstis’ children.

Now, George and Martha had no children  In other words, no direct heirs.  Martha’s son was her only child to live to adulthood   His son lived with Martha and George.  So George knew that step grandson was cared for from his Curstis inheritance.  So those Curstis slaves and their offspring and the Curstis properties passed to that step grandson.  Martha had use of both the Washington and Curstis slaves until her death

Kind of changes the picture from your presentation a bit.

Might read up a bit on John Adams and John Quincy Adams before talking about the first nine presidents   Suggest you delve into Abigail Adams a bit too. The letters between the two clearly identify that Abigail and her wisdom deserve the title of Mother of our Country.  (When I discovered ancestors back in Braintree, my daughter was thrilled to find out that John and especially Abigail were cousins of both my wife and my families.

Really? Wow!! I am awed. For the last couple of decades we have named our cats after presidents. All but one, the lone girl, whom we named Abigail. I am particularly fond of the letter she wrote to her son, John Quincy Adams when he accompanied his father to Europe. Here's a link to it (I will not force it on others) https://founders.archives.gov/documents/Adams/04-03-02-0207

And oh yes, another of our cats was named Quincy.

I didn't read the article, just skimmed it. I'd never heard of the study before today.

The article seemed to imply that founding fathers were against slavery and stated so but failed to mention majority of them still owned slaves, which seems incongruent with their views

As for my presentation, wasnt really a presentation, I mean I didn't even power point it's just a few word sentence😉

As for the rest Interesting history struggling to find the relevance of it to discussion at hand, non the less Interesting.

Genealogy is cool, as far as I know I'm not related to anyone famous at least as far as worldly standards.

My great great grandma was Joseph Smith's, ( Mormon history) personal physician, and a school teacher, a women physician was a rarity back in those days, she actually dug a few bullets out of John Taylor who was shot and survived when an angry mob murdered Joseph Smith and his Brother Hyrum at Carthage jail in Illinois. 1844.

Thats the extent of famous people in my family tree, which outside of Mormon history isn't famous at all and even then most Mormon people don't know her story🤷‍♂️

LOL. My daughter named her first cat Abigail Adams (Abby, the crabby tabby).  I currently live to serve Edward R. Murrow and Betty Ford.  Funny thing is that before my daughter named Ed, she had no idea about the quote in my signature on the EMB.

If you're within 2 yards of Brady it's a penalty.. That said if he's lined up against Wirf's he won't get that close.  I'll take the under

You are under the impression brady can’t get that walking penalty to jump off sides 5 times

Only 5 times? That would be an achievement... For Barnett.

Here's the muppet review of Mailata against the Panthers.  It's really a hard game to judge how well we did if you ask me.  I mentioned he got abused a bit after the game and while he did on a few plays, he played OK.

You have to wonder though.   It was his first game ever as a RT playing on a sprained right MCL (his plant leg) wearing a brace which he never wore before and he admitted made him feel stiff.  It's apparent in the tape that he wasn't confident in the leg and the brace.  He looked stiff, high and he often played with his feet too close together (another sign he didn't want to widen his base and put pressure on the knee).

He wasn't limited at all in practice this week. It will be interesting to see if he goes with the brace tomorrow night or not.  I'm thinking it will be smart to wear the brace one more game and make it to the long break.

What with discussion of late about the Constitution and this post, I would be remiss if I did not insert a plug for Plain, Honest Men by Richard Beeman. An excellent work on the Founders and the Constitutional Convention. Also, Dr. Beeman owns a golden retriever named, you guessed it, Abigail Adams.

Man, does he hate Dillard, who was terrific in this game. Run it a second time and watch Dillard. I also don't get his love for Driscoll, who's not long enough for tackle but who's quick enough for guard. If you're going to have a moose like Dickerson at one guard spot you must have a move guard at the other spot. That goes double if Kelce retires because whoever the next center is, he will not be as quick, smart, and agile as Kelce.
