Yep.  Not good enough to worry about gimmicks.  Let’s game plan and execute first.

Hurts just isn't good enough. He usually just makes one progression and rolls to the right.  He can't consistently throw over the middle in the 10-20 yard range. All his throws are either really short or deep passes and often not accurate deep passes.  He's a good leader, but he just doesn't have the ability to pass a team downfield consistently.  The coaching was bad tonight, too and the use of personnel. No Gainwell until the 2nd half.  Only a couple of runs in the 1st half.   Gannon is going to have to take more chances. He can't just keep playing single high safeties when the team is getting crushed in the run game.   You have to try some run blitzes  or do something to stop it.

When you’re dropping back 50 times and under a constant rush it’s hard to get beyond the second read.  He was in survival mode most of the night.  Maybe if they called more than 3 runs they might keep the defense honest and help him out a bit.
