Still over 4 here.... It said on the news that PA's gas prices keep dropping but, I'm not sure where exactly

I paid over $4 before Thanksgiving (I think it was $4.05 or so), $3.95 the day after Thanksgiving and $3.73 this morning. Granted, most places I passed were around $3.85-3.95 today.

Or a result of too many regulations that make entry into some markets nearly impossible?

Doubtful and more likely that privileges and lack of oversight have allowed single entities to accumulate so much wealth and power that small-time operations are essentially shut off from competition.

The Biden Economic Miracle keeps rolling on!

Whats household debt at again?

too high. one could take that as a sign that people are confident in their ability to pay it off, but that would presuppose rational acting on the part of individuals which is hardly a given.

the "economic miracle" is certainly tongue-in-cheek. very little of what Biden has done even in the almost two years now he's been in office is making much of an economic impact.

the main trait I support Biden for is that he isn't trying to undermine democracy and overthrow elections. the economy needs to sort itself out, the government pretending to look busy on economic policy has rarely made that much of a difference in the near term.

Anybody else noticing the weir shortage of cream products in the PA area?

Half n Half, light cream, heavy cream, - some days can't find them anywhere in the area.

Basic supply and demand — producers don’t have the production capacity currently. Not as bad as in the UK, but supply is tight nationwide.

The wife drinks half and half in her coffee, and a neighbor drinks light cream - we've been out hunting for each other, because it just is not around.

When I look for substitutes for half and half, there is no cream, light or heavy.

Been going on here longer than just thanksgiving

Montco area

In Northern Virginia, it's basically Heavy Cream, Fru Fru half and half and precious little else

It's still a hot labor market, just not as tight as it was a few months ago.

Stap in. We're going for a ride.

Might be a good time to consider splitting the aces.

I'll be fine, don't worry about me junior.

Maybe consider spending less time drinking vodka while pretending to drink water.

WSJ: November Employment Report Shows U.S. Economy Added 263,000 Jobs

November job growth was roughly in line with the previous three months, when payrolls grew an average of 282,000 a month. Job growth continues to exceed the 2019 monthly average of 164,000, though gains have slowed from the first half of the year.

The job market has remained resilient this year, with employers still seeking to hire despite an uncertain economic outlook and elevated recession fears. Low unemployment and wage gains have helped fuel consumer spending, the economy’s main engine.

One big question is how long that strength can last as the Federal Reserve aggressively raises interest rates to tame inflation. Some companies in technology, entertainment and real estate are laying off workers, but demand for workers continues to outpace the number of unemployed people looking for work.

Wages are still rising, which is good for the worker but probably means the Fed will remain aggressive on rate hikes.

Even the Fed can't stop Biden's economic choo-choo!

Both those articles are over a year old.

Damn, unusually check that ish. It is 2022 isn’t it?

The cost of the bombers remains unknown — although it was projected to cost approximately $550 million each in 2010 dollars, or about $750 million in today's inflation-adjust dollars —

Your money is worth 25% less than it was just 12 years ago.

Having a seven-figure net worth isn't exactly some unattainable amount. For someone who's been working for 25 years, especially for dual income households, simply tucking away 15-20% of gross pay every year and investing it in index funds should get most people almost all the way there already.

I was an F"up until my early 20's and I made it with room to spare.
