January 6, 20223 yr Went to Wegmans Sunday Jan 2. Wanted to make pulled pork but they were out of pork. Thanks Biden.

Was the economy moving along nicely after years of doldrums under the previous administration? Did we start or end wars? Did he forge any peace treaties in the Mideast? The tone was terrible. He made some mistakes - I wouldn't have pulled out of Afghanistan and left a vacuum for example. But if you stopped listening to the noise and looked at the results on the ground, they were good. If Obama or Biden accomplished what he did, they'd be gloating about it and all the libs here would be gloatingly posting memes about it.

I have become numb to fluctuations in the price of gas since it went over $3.00/gallon over a decade ago. It's an inelastic commodity and the crash in price we saw recently was a direct product of the recession brought on by the pandemic. Besides, I'm not so indigent that filling up my tank really makes or breaks my finances either way. Maybe people need to be less poor? 3 minutes ago, Procus said: Were you unhappy with the price of gas when you filled up? Was the economy moving along nicely after years of doldrums under the previous administration? The economy was relatively stable from 2016-2019 and working quite well for some and less well for others (particularly the lower and middle-income brackets). This was on the heels of a historic period of growth coming out of the last administration. When the crash happened, Trump did absolutely nothing to right the ship. If there's been one good thing about the pandemic, it's been the growth of wages after a long period of stagnation (unfortunately, they are not keeping up with inflation, however). 5 minutes ago, Procus said: Did we start or end wars? Did he forge any peace treaties in the Mideast? The one area where I can maybe give Trump a smidgen of credit was in some limited aspects of foreign policy, but I'm not sure the M.E. is one of those areas. If we're gonna criticize Biden on the Afghanistan pullout (reasonable), we also need to take a critical eye toward the guy who cut the deal.

Presidents have little control over gas prices in the near term you twit. And even if they did, the late term Obama gas prices were lower than pre pandemic Trump. In terms of the economy, point to where Trump's economy started doing better than Obama's: You're brainwashed.
January 10, 20223 yr Well there are tons of empty shelves at most grocery stores, but at least we'll always have a shelf full of fake meats to choose from:
January 10, 20223 yr If anyone can tell me any chain stores that we would also have on the west coast that have shortages. I have not been into a store that resembles any of the shortage claims and pictures that are posted. I went into 3 different grocery stores this weekend, everything was stocked.

Publix was out of cream cheese the other day. I was shaken to my core. #neverforget

January 10, 20223 yr lmfao I'm sure all the reports about localized shortages are made up conspiracy theories. Hardcore ishlibs amazingly unaffected.

January 10, 20223 yr Well done Pop Pop Quote There are now more than three times as many container ships waiting for LA/LB berths as there were at this time last year, 11.6 times more than on June 24 (the low point for last year), and 31% more than on Oct. 24, when online searches for the term "supply chain” peaked and the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach announced a new Biden administration-backed congestion fee plan.

Yea, I don't think it's as simple as panic buying. I went to my local Trader Joe's yesterday and about 20% of the shelves were empty. I asked the checkout lady what was going on and she said their stocking orders aren't being fulfilled for many items. "Been this way for weeks" she said. I think it has more to do with covid cases amongst harvesters, drivers and distributors...and the lack of employable people in the supply chain.

Some of those pics are from panic buying ahead of this polar vortex. No doubt some is related to staffing issues as well, given how contagious Omicron is proving to be.
January 11, 20223 yr The local acme is running out of frozen pizza and other frozen sheet. Fresh fruit is low but not gone completely. Bread seemed low but I don’t buy my bread there so was just walking past it to the eggs. Eggs are fine. Cheese is low, cream and shredded. The blocks of cheese are still there. Got a local Polish store I go to and they’ve been having all kinds of issues getting all kinds of things in from Poland.

This ^^ most likely a combination of things contributing to the shortages - supply chain issues combined with panic buying. Probably not a bad idea to load up on non-perishables just in case.

If your righteous indignation kicks in when someone laughs at the grocery store being out of tortillas, then your priorities are F'd.

Sorry to burst your pathetic little bubble.
