Thanks a lot Putin!

If only these boys could read. The reality is that inflation increased 10%.

Not to 10%. Currently, inflation is 7.9%

They shrank the cans a few years back.

Now let’s use some of the older calculation methods…

Wait and see what happens if the Saudi / Chinese deal goes through.

Keep talking about Russia though

Even so, it's crappy iced tea, you can get a whole gallon of almost any iced tea for 2 bucks.

Very few potatoes at the store today.  I heard bacon has gotten really expensive but I generally don’t eat bacon

Bacon was 8.99lb last week here in the DC Metro Area.

And yes, profits greed is part of it too.

More like too much money pumped into the system.

Bacon at my local butcher, is $6.99 a pound, sliced to order.

I trim the fat off of the bacon we buy so it's basically double the cost for what I end up with by the time I'm done. I know it's unhealthy to eat it at all, but still try to keep the saturated fats to a reasonable level.

I rarely eat bacon. I've never liked the amount of fat on it.

I did however have a Kona dry aged steak from Capital Grille at a work function last night. Rare. Shallot butter and added some wild mushrooms.

I haven't had a steak in a while because of dieting, and it was fantastic.

I eat it about once a month. Usually 2 pieces on a burger that I've made. If I do eat it with breakfast I only eat one or two pieces.

I feel there is nothing wrong with eating it, but most people need an entire plate of bacon. It's a powerful, rich flavor and I don't have the desire to have more than a couple strips at a time.

Dishwasher broke three weeks ago.  Still waiting for the new one to ship.  They said it might take a month or two.  Wife has been proven an inadequate replacement.

I use it in pasta, in stuffing, potato skins, I'll have a piece if I'm making it with eggs for the kids, on occasion to wrap a filet, etc.

Definitely started eating it much more often now that we have kids. Ate it once in a while before then.

Oh I use it in cooking here and there. I make "dirty corn" with it, my wife absolutely loves it.  It it's 2 strips diced in a lb of corn lol, I don't even count that.

Honestly, $6 for a BLT in NYC doesn't sound all that bad.

But I honestly don't think many ishlibs can comprehend how big of a deal the rapidly rising cost of food is.

Pretty sure a BLT was about that price several years ago

Good. More for me.

$6 for a sandwich in NYC? I wouldn't eat that...definitely going to make someone sick.

Well I got gas this morning for under $4.00 and it looks to be heading lower every day. I’d just like to thank the great President Biden for ending the fuel crisis in like 2 weeks.

I'm one of those weird people who actually like turkey bacon more.

Yes yes, judge me now.

I miss being close enough to the Amish market in Newtown to grab their turkey bacon. Though I bet None Such Farm Market has some... I'll have to look.

That said, I prefer regular old breakfast sausage over all of them if I'm going with some kind of homestyle breakfast.
