All kidding aside, given the sensitive and precarious nature of the commodity, it might actually be a good idea to fund and build up a small stockpile of formula to help weather temporary shortages like this.

That's the problem though, people hear shortages and they panic buy and hoard it making it an even bigger problem.

To address infant formula shortages in the wake of Abbott Nutrition’s voluntary recall of certain powdered infant formulas, the Biden-Harris Administration is working to ensure that infant formula is safe and available for families across the country. Yesterday, President Biden spoke with retailers and manufacturers, including Walmart, Target, Reckitt, and Gerber, to discuss ways to get more formula quickly and safely onto store shelves. He also announced a series of actions, including cutting red tape on the types of formula parents can buy, calling on the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general to crack down on price gouging and unfair market practices, and increasing the supply of formula through increased imports.

Are you having a psychotic episode?

What does ANY of what you posted have to do with Hannity wanking about formula and showing pictures of powdered milk?

What's your point, Sarah? That they're both powdered so Hannity was right? Cocaine is also a powder, but nobody thinks you should give it to an infant. Well unless that infant's dad is this guy...

 They found their sucker. You're talking about 1 picture shown, that's powdered milk for kids, shown after they showed other pictures of powdered baby formula. The only people lying are your source. Keep defending it without actually looking into it though.

Powdered milk for kids is not baby formula, there's no powdered milk shortage, and there's no point whatsoever for Hannity to show a picture of a pallet of powdered milk other than to dupe uneducated dimwits like you and the rest of the cult. Hannity knows all too well his audience can barely keep the drool from slipping off their bottom lips, let alone differentiate powdered milk vs infant formula.

Frankly, the baby formula shortage is something only this age of American late-stage capitalism/corporatism could produce. Make it difficult to produce to ensure its safety, so only a few companies even have the ability to make it. So when a factory is shuttered it causes a deep drop in supply. Tariff it and its ingredients to keep globalism at bay, because America First! Then mix in a pandemic, with consumers hoarding the product at first, then let sales fall sharply as they use it all up, to really mess up the supply chain. Then add a mini-baby boom to increase demand. Now there isn’t enough to go around.

It took a lot of errors to get this bad. But I hear the Abbott factory can reopen, so hopefully the situation gets better soon.

The Pop Pop administration is going to tackle inflation by taxing corporations more and asking them to not pass those higher costs on to consumers. Problem solved!

Good to again note the reason for the Abbott shut down:

Quote
WHY DID ABBOTT INITIATE A RECALL AND PLANT SHUTDOWN?

Consumers reported four infants who were sick, including three with Cronobacter sakazakii infections and one with Salmonella newport, and had been fed formula products made at the Sturgis plant. A fourth infant with cronobacter sakazakii was later added to the investigation by the U.S. Centers for Disease and Control Prevention.

Cronobacter sakazakii can cause life threatening sepsis infections or meningitis and may have contributed to the death of two of the infants, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration has said https://www.fda.gov/food/outbreaks-foodborne-illness/fda-investigation-cronobacter-infections-powdered-infant-formula-february-2022. It continues to investigate the four Cronobacter cases.

U.K. Inflation Hits 40-Year High, Putting Government on Defensive

Quote

LONDON—The U.K.’s annual rate of inflation jumped to a forty-year-high in April, the highest level recorded by an industrialized nation since the start of the global price surge last year.

Consumer prices in April were 9% higher than a year earlier, a jump from 7% in March and the highest inflation rate since March 1982, the Office for National Statistics said. The pace is now the highest recorded by one of the Group of Seven rich economies in about a year.

The pace is also above the 8.5% annual rate of inflation record by the U.S. in March, which had been the sharpest rise since the global inflation surge began with the reopening of many economies in early 2021 as the pandemic eased.

Weird. I was told that our inflation was worse because of Biden.

Biden's so bad he's causing inflation in other countries to skyrocket!

Add in the fact that we don't even bother to enforce laws against monopolies anymore, so you get an entire industry controlled by like 3 companies, and when there's a crisis with one of them, the whole market breaks down.
