I wouldn't think refueling Ukrainian jets would be a violation. it's aid. certainly no more than delivering javelins and other military weapons.

Who gives a crap either way? I started this thread saying I didn't want us involved militarily, and I'd still prefer that, but if he's moving rockets to Belarus it's coming to us soon or later anyway.

Why is refueling Ukrainian jets any more of a violation than sending them light arms?

I don’t doubt that it is, just curious about the technicality of it.

We actually just approved $350m of weapons - anti tank, surface to air, javelins, etc - to be sent to assist.  We just won’t or can’t send personnel to actively fight within the borders of Ukraine/Russia.  Beyond any written or unwritten rules, if we engage our own, it furthers the risk the crazy Dobby (ref Harry Potter) pushes the red button.

The people who care about a war that would actively involve our troops having to be on the ground there or on our own soil defending us if that crazy meth head of a dictator pushes the wrong button.

That’s just my speculation. IMO using a military plane to directly support another military plane is different than supplying them with the gas to do it theirselves. I’m splitting hairs for sure but seems different to me. Either way F Russia and do it.

If he is that unhinged that he's moving rockets to Belarus it's going to be coming to us anyway.

IMO I think Putins downfall is coming, and soon.  He is crazy and his military leaders know it, and the oligarchs are about to lose a ton of money.  His days are numbered

Hence us giving a crap and applauding anyone helping the front lines.

It’s about the risk. If we are refueling Ukrainian jets, even in Polish airspace, you run the risk of US personnel being mistakenly attacked by Russian jets. If that happens…

It's been reported he has a pretty tight circle around him. Things may change when the money stops though.

Pretty much what we all thought but confirmed by Rubio

Is there any scenario we don’t see one of these things in the next 2 weeks?

1. Appalling escalation of the Russian invasion.

2.  Unthinkable and humiliating concession from Putin.

3. Internal elimination of Putin to prevent further disaster.

It feels like any one of them is a completely unimaginable scenario, but I think one of them has to happen, sooner rather than later.

1 is all but guaranteed, 2 is unlikely, 3 is a pipe dream. Not even in the realm of plausibility.

I think 3 is more likely than 2.

Not likely. But I don't see Putin pulling back.

I’m not saying which is most likely…only that the current situation has to evolve into one of those three.

What generally happens when you put someone with no regard for human life and that much power in a corner?
