No matter what sanctions are going to have downstream effects, but these sanctions are pretty surgical in a lot of ways targeting specific people and their families. This didn't just happen. These sanctions have been discussed and designed for months. Maybe that’s the "concept” of them but come on Bro we all know that the suffering doesn’t start at the top it starts from the bottom and works it’s way up what sanctions take from Putin he will take from someone else. Even his how own people’s piggy banks.

Not that there's not ways around that but he and his generals will certainly feel the effect of sanctions as well. If done right sanctions are extremely effective. Big if. Right, that's where they were trying to target as best they can those at the top and minimizing where they can impacts on the regular population. But you can't target and cripple central banks without hurting regular people somewhat.

But mostly in a way that we're seeing - we've caused a run on the banks as people go to try and draw money from their accounts. This is going to have the effect for many to direct their anger at a government that has caused Russia to be isolated, hopefully. Most likely the solution to this has to come from within Russia. This is all part of it.

But come on, they're putting their lives on the line for a cause. They're not getting paid afaik, they are doing the right thing. Whatever personal reasons they may have that added to that decision shouldn't overshadow that central fact.

The whole world sees this and these guys were asked to join the fight by Ukraine because they need the help. I expect even more will join in the coming week.
February 27, 20223 yr Part of me thinks they're an actual NATO task force disguised as "volunteers' but will be well equipped and financed. Russia did the same thing in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine with unmarked Spetznaz units.

I don’t think it’s possible for them to win this. But think we all agree that they should be sent whatever they need to continue to hold on.

This is all part of it. Ask yourself this. What would The Godfather do? personally I don’t think sanctions are the answer when you’re dealing with a country this vast. Now if you seize their funds and use then to fund the Ukraine’s In their efforts that’s something I could see having an effect. but apparently as it sits we put forth sanctions, they counter by putting their nukes on high alert, now it’s out move. Which is like bringing your queen out in the 2nd move of the game basicallu

Well they are hanging on a lot more than we thought and Ukrainians are turning around to come back and fight. I'm interested to see what China does in the next few days, if anything.
