February 27, 20224 yr It's a shame we'll probably never know the full extent of foreign involvement here. The Ukrainian intelligence on Russian plans seems pretty clearly way better/more effective than you'd expect. I bet there is some crazy crap going on in the ground.

Thing is, there is absolutely no story he can spin to his people that justifies dropping a nuke on a defenceless country (well defenceless from a nuclear attack I mean).

February 27, 20224 yr I'm not promising that Russia won't nuke us and (because we have to retaliate if they do) end human life on Earth -- but Putin can't launch the nukes all by himself. People have to follow orders, which I think is unlikely. More likely is that if he gets ready to do that, someone under him will do a coup and he'll quickly get recognized as the new legitimate ruler of Russia.
