Gonna be a lot of sunflowers growing in Kiev.

The war should've been easy for Russia. It's the occupation that's difficult. But even the war hasn't been easy.

Well they are hanging on a lot more than we thought and Ukrainians are turning around to come back and fight.

I'm interested to see what China does in the next few days, if anything.

China told Putin to "go deep" and now they just chillin' with the ball in their hands.

It's a shame we'll probably never know the full extent of foreign involvement here. The Ukrainian intelligence on Russian plans seems pretty clearly way better/more effective than you'd expect. I bet there is some crazy crap going on in the ground.

this is actually pretty amazing on a number of levels.

I fear its only a matter of time before Putin does something really stupid.. ie:Nuke.   He is being embarrassed. His troops being laid to waste. He is balls deep in the ish and he might see that as his only way out.

Thing is, there is absolutely no story he can spin to his people that justifies dropping a nuke on a defenceless country (well defenceless from a nuclear attack I mean).

He's not threatening to use them in his back yard. He's threatening to use them in yours.

That would be suicide for Putin. Ultimate move by the coward.

If he looks at it as he is losing, will likely be ousted, assassinated, worldwide blackballed, etc...  he might just go out with a bang. Literally.

It would be a very illogical train of thought to go from embarrassment that your army is failing to launching a nuke at another nuclear capable country. Not that I’m claiming this monstrosity is logical in his decision making.

Right? They are on a 2 lane country rd. Ukraine should send out a few jets and just blow up the first few and block the road.

Guerrilla warfare time

I'm not promising that Russia won't nuke us and (because we have to retaliate if they do) end human life on Earth -- but Putin can't launch the nukes all by himself. People have to follow orders, which I think is unlikely. More likely is that if he gets ready to do that, someone under him will do a coup and he'll quickly get recognized as the new legitimate ruler of Russia.

Hopefully in a couple hours when the satellite pic updates it'll be a line of smoldering fires..
