March 1, 20223 yr Just now, JohnSnowsHair said: BS. Biden was beating the drum with allies since October. The US was the one who was adamant that this time it was different, that the invasion was imminent, and that intelligence was dead-on. Biden coordinated a lot of the response to the invasion in the last couple months. Those sanctions did not come together in a matter of days by magic, those sanctions took time to plan for. Those plans were in place pre-invasion. The downplaying of how well Biden has handled this situation is ridiculous. I am no Biden fan, but I think he's handled this as well as he could.

He's been pretty good otherwise. Air raid sirens again over Kyiv

March 1, 20223 yr Visa and Mastercard block Russian banks from their networks after sanctions https://www.cnbc.com/2022/03/01/visa-mastercard-block-russian-financial-institutions-after-sanctions.html I saw there were huge lines in Russian subways, as cell phone pay systems stopped working yesterday. This sort of thing is going to really hit the Russian people, who already seem unhappy with this war.

But that’s where we are now and the administration is doing about all it can really. But it shouldn’t have ever got to this. And when I say "this” I’m talking about people are dying.

Western Ukraine will probably be slit between Poland and Hungary. The other option is Russia takes the whole thing and forces anti-Russians out into Europe as refugees. That’s not how this works. You can’t just go in and claim land and make new boundaries. Just like you can’t just claim you won the presidency even though you got smoked in the voting.

Like Obama, he just wants to be part of the team, not lead Also, as stated previously, Bidens "success" here hinges almost entirely on the will of the Ukrainians to fight. Had they not, this would have been a total defeat for him. Id give Biden a solid B. Hasnt made it worse necessarily, which is the most importsnt part. But hasnt dazzled or shown particularly strong leadership or vision either.

Now people are dying and the stakes are rising. s the most powerful leader(s) in the world failed. And we can’t exclude the trump AND Biden administration in that. I don’t know man. In my mind I honestly believe we need wars for economic purposes and that what info we get about these conflicts in 95% propaganda

March 1, 20223 yr Anyone pulling for Ukraine needs to pray for the continued safety of Zelensky. He's Putin's main target right now, and his continued leadership and bravery is a big motivator to the Ukrainian people at this point. If, God forbid, something happens to him, it would be so demoralizing the country might not recover.
March 1, 20223 yr If they strike down Zelensky now, he will become more powerful than they could ever imagine
