Is that true? I thought they only deployed like 200k troops.

It’s just the percent of the mobilized troops

Keep in mind that's civilians and soldiers but yeah I believe it's somewhere between 20-30 million. Which is still just bonkers to me. That's like 1/4-1/3 the entire population of Germany at the time. The eastern front was unbelievably brutal.

Russia did the majority of the fighting and dying in World War II among the Allies.  Initially Germany had signed a non-agression agreement with the Soviets until they changed their mind.

After the U.S. got involved in late 1941 / early 1942 we eventually sent troops to….  North Africa.  I mean, D-Day wasn’t until June of 1944.  The U.S. was pretty much the only country fighting in the Pacific AND Atlantic though.

And we do next to nothing …

My understanding is they have 95% of the troops they staged outside Ukraine committed inside the borders now.

A week ago when Russia was being absolutely pummeled I saw it reported that they only had 1/3rd of their deployed troops in Ukraine and the other 2/3 were outside and were going to be sent in all at once.

I figured at that point, Ukraine would be overwhelmed and overtaken. Here we are a week later and Ukraine seems no closer to falling, now with supposedly 98% of the troops inside.

Rommel was not considered the best of the Wehrmacht, FYI. That would be von Manstein. Rommel has a great reputation because he was a highly honorable figure who treated his adversaries extremely well. He was good, but not the best of the Germans.

I would say Guderian but what difference does it make.  Diehard should shut it down because he has no clue what he is talking about.

Armies all across the world target civilians all the time and we do nothing. And they don’t have thousands of nukes. We aren’t starting WW3 over this. Thank god.

Long threat on the Twitters you can click through, but it basically argues what I was earlier: Putin is either rational but badly miscalculated, or irrational. Kozryev, Russia’s former Foreign Minister, believes he is rational but badly miscalculated on three main points:

1. Ukraine’s condition as a country
2. Russian military’s condition
3. The West’s geopolitical condition

Rationalization and cowardice

Rings true to me, starting with the playing poker "the Russian way"

Uh it was from a US briefing about the war this weekend. I don't even know what your brain thinks you said.

He attacked a Nuclear Facility and has threatened to use them. Their own defense policy calls for the use of Tactical Nukes in battle in certain situations. How can you, be so sure he won't. Based on what?

Am I correct to assume, you support USA boots on the ground?

Strawman. I have said all along whats called for is air superiority.

yall are ruled by fear and its pathetic. Ask yourself what incentive Putin has to nuke his own front yard. That he wants control and retain…

any nuke move would ensure moscow gets levelled and there effectively is no more russia to rule

It’s very rational, that’s for sure. Cowardice? No - try sanity.

But since you seem to have such high conviction to fight, go sign up. They’re accepting foreign fighters and some Americans are actually willing to put their blood where their mouth is. But that’s not going to be you, now is it?

More childish nonsense

the point wouldnt be to invade russia. But rather stymie them at every turn and exhaust them

20,000 foreigners volunteer to fight for Ukraine, foreign minister Kuleba says

LVIV, Ukraine — Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said more than 20,000 people from 52 countries have already volunteered to fight in Ukraine, where they will serve in a newly created international legion.

He did not say how many of the foreign volunteers have arrived in Ukraine.

"The whole world today is on Ukraine’s side not only in words but in deeds,” Kuleba said on Ukrainian television Sunday night.
