Vitali Klitschko is the mayor of Kyiv, let him and Putin fight, winner takes all.
Vitali being the only politician on the planet who whips Putin like a rented mule, and he knows it, that has to drive his sick KGB ass crazy.

Here's the truly hysterical part -- the current situation is ideal for the US. Russia's military is engaged and has been seriously degraded to the point that they have to bring in foreign troops. We a

Bomber Over Belarus

Quote

The Russian Defense Ministry said the two Tu-22M3 bombers practiced interacting with the Belarusian air force and air defense during a four-hour mission. The flight followed several similar patrols over Belarus, which borders Ukraine to the north.

I think it's an anti-tank weapon.

That certainly was a troubling time.  Had US government going on tv showing all this supposed evidence.  My thoughts were we shouldn’t do anything until we had confirmation and support from our allies.  Didn’t go that way, but I can’t fault anyone who trusted the government to feed us the facts.  Monday morning quarterbacking is easy.

Call me skeptical, but when Dick Cheney went on the Sunday talk show circuit linking Iraq to 9/11 it sounded like a bunch of hogwash to me.

Both House and Senate voted for Iraq resolution giving Bush the go ahead.  Most Democrats voted no, but GOP had the votes.  Party line voting to take nation to war. So sad.

That was rookie level party line voting.

It’s almost instinctual now. The nay votes even claim credit for "getting things done” now.

Requiring congressional approval for military operations on foreign soil?

How quaint.

Bush was talking about invading Iraq during the 2000 debates with Gore and spent all of 2002-2003 before the invasion desperately trying to shut down weapons inspections that repeatedly turned up no evidence of WMDs. It was always an obvious land-grab and personal vendetta by W to avenge his daddy. I can absolutely blame people for being duped by that Mickey-Mouse administration.

Apparently the mud in Ukraine is early this year. That might be a bonus for those who are against armed conflict.

I clearly remember watching Colin Powell presenting his case to the UN. He had pictures of trucks in front of silos on farms, that he claimed was proof they were hiding WMDs in there. Call me skeptical. I thought they could be hauling anything in and out of there: weapons, supplies, food!  It was a farm! I was not convinced he had proof.

How do you think leaders in this country would react if there was posturing for a mutual defense pact between Mexico or Canada and Russia?

Maybe if Russia hadn't invaded countries - what, four times since the fall of the Soviet Union? - nations around Russia might feel less of a need to enter into mutual defense pacts.

As long as Russia doesn't invade a defense pact shouldn't bother them. Seems odd that it really ruffles them. Almost like they want to maintain the option to attack weaker sovereign nations without military reprisal from allies.

Almost..

Meanwhile, the most "advanced" fighter jet in the world has trouble staying out of the drink.
