March 8, 20223 yr The cauldron in the east has closed. 170,000 civilians evacuated. The western backed Not-z army is about to be destroyed. Once the Russian forces link up in central Ukraine, it's basically over. The U.S. avatar called Zelensky will have to decide whether Ukraine will remain a state or be replaced.

March 8, 20223 yr Poland ready to place all its MIG-29 jets at the disposal of U.S WARSAW (Reuters) - Poland is ready to deploy all its MIG-29 jets to Ramstein Air Base in Germany and put them at the disposal of the United States, and urges other NATO members that own planes of that type to do the same, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday. U.S. lawmakers pushed President Joe Biden's administration on Monday to facilitate the transfer of fighter aircraft to Ukraine from Poland and other NATO and Eastern European countries, after a plea on Saturday from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. "The authorities of the Republic of Poland...are ready to deploy – immediately and free of charge – all their MIG-29 jets to the Ramstein Air Base and place them at the disposal of the Government of the United States of America," the ministry said. "At the same time, Poland requests the United States to provide us with used aircraft with corresponding operational capabilities. Poland is ready to immediately establish the conditions of purchase of the planes," it said in a statement. Poland is supporting Kyiv with defensive weapons, but has said it would not send jets to Ukraine, as it is not a direct party to the conflict between Ukraine - which is not a NATO ally - and Russia. "...any decisions on delivering offensive weapons have to be taken by the entire NATO and on a unanimous basis," Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Tuesday during a joint news conference with his Norwegian counterpart in Oslo. "This is why we are ready to give all of our fleet of jet fighters to Ramstein, but we are not ready to make any moves on our own because, as I said, we are not party to this war," he added.

March 8, 20223 yr The Evil notzee Dictator is Angry. Awwww. ‘Putin is angry’: U.S. intel chiefs warn that Russia may escalate attacks WASHINGTON — U.S. Intelligence leaders on Tuesday floated the idea that Vladimir Putin may seek an exit from Ukraine if his war effort continues to stall, but that escalation of the conflict is likely to happen before the Russian president considers ending his attacks. "We assess Putin feels aggrieved the West does not give him proper deference and perceives this as a war he cannot afford to lose. But what he might be willing to accept as a victory may change over time, given the significant costs he is incurring,” Avril Haines, the director of national intelligence, told members of the House Intelligence Committee. The heads of the nation’s intelligence agencies painted a bleak picture of the war as it winds through its second week. Intelligence agencies expect that food and water for some Ukrainians could run out in less than two weeks, and believe that between 2,000 and 4,000 Russian troops have died so far. Although Russia possesses a military arsenal superior to Ukraine in almost every respect, the Kremlin has performed much worse than predicted and has so far failed to take any of the country’s biggest cities. CIA Director William Burns, a former ambassador to Moscow, warned Tuesday that Putin now finds himself in an untenable position.
March 8, 20223 yr NATO ready for conflict with Russia, US warns The US has warned NATO forces are ready to enter conflict and defend member countries against Russian attacks as the Ukraine crisis continues to escalate. Secretary of state Antony Blinken said "we are ready" for conflict if it "comes to us". NATO is the military alliance currently made up of 28 European countries, plus the US and Canada. Ukraine is not a member, but is seeking to join as Russia's attack on the country continues. Blinken's warning to Vladimir Putin comes as Russia continued its bombardment of Ukraine with the shelling of a nuclear power station in Zaporizhzhia in the south-east of the country.
March 8, 20223 yr I just don't see how Russia is in any position to attack anyone else other than Ukraine.

It's also a long way to traverse in the air given Ukraine propensity for shooting down Russian aircraft. Not sure where the nearest Russian airfield is but they have Su-34s with a fairly large combat radius. They would have to maintain high altitudes to avoid stingers for most of the flight but yeah they'd likely lose some as they descended on the Ukrainian convoys if they were waiting for them (which they presumably would be with us tracking them on radar and feeding the intel to the boys on the ground along the routes.) Again, speaks to how well they've held up and contested the airspace where they've needed to. But this also begs the question for why Putin's boy Lukashenko isn't allowing more of these forces to stage and proceed within his borders too. Maybe to give the thinly veiled appearance of impartiality so they can remain as hosts for these negotiations I suppose.

Because it takes Poland out of the question entirely. Poland didn’t give the planes to Ukraine. They gave them to the US. Who then will give them to Ukraine. We’re not supplying them. We’re distributing them.

It's not like Putin doesn't know what Poland is doing here. Just seems pretty silly for Poland to pass the buck to us and then turn around and say, "Hey Vlad, don't look at us, all we did was give some Migs to the yanks, how were we supposed to know they'd give them to Ukraine?!"
