It will happen because the U.S. made noises about inviting Ukraine into NATO and ignored Russia's clear, repeated warnings about doing so. You may not think Russia has legitimate security concerns but they clearly are willing to take extreme measures to assure Ukraine is neutralized. That's all that matters. NATO will not fight to defend Ukraine so why hang them out to dry? She had it coming. Flirting in public, ya know.

It would be kind of stupid for them to say we would never use nukes. That's basically the case with any nuclear power, but if I consider Putin's psychology, I can't be so sure that he doesn't consider his personal existence essential to Russia's existence.

According to a Russian military doctrine stated in 2010, nuclear weapons could be used by Russia "in response to the use of nuclear and other types of weapons of mass destruction against it or its allies, and also in case of aggression against Russia with the use of conventional weapons when the very existence of the state is threatened".[43] Most military analysts believe that, in this case, Russia would pursue an 'escalate to de-escalate' strategy, initiating limited nuclear exchange to bring adversaries to the negotiating table. Russia will also threaten nuclear conflict to discourage initial escalation of any major conventional conflict.[44]

It’s the equivalent of having a neighbour you don’t like telling you he’s thinking of buying a gun, so you decide to go and kill him and his entire family so he cant. Totally justifiable?

There's a huge difference between a private company kicking people off its free platform and a government criminalizing the publication of any news that goes off the approved message. Freedom of speech means the government cannot criminalize any form of speech. It doesn't mean people can say anything they want without consequences from society or private businesses. Take a civics course dude.
