If you think the Russians are going to accept payments in currencies which can and have been confiscated, you're not too bright. Russia is going to give away gas for nothing? Germany's inflation rate is the highest in 40 years- already. They know they need that Russian gas or it's kaputt. Germany is trying to find a way to avoid the sanctions they imposed.
