I was thinking more Joshua Tree/Rattle and Hum and maybe even Achtung Baby and/or The Unforgettable Fire but hey, you do you.

Honestly, except for a few bands, the vocals are way down the list on how I judge them. I mostly focus on the composition.

Ultimately, someone can be on key but just not be your style. A lot of people aren't into Geddy Lee's singing style, but if you think Rush sucks, you're a moron.

I'm the opposite really. Not so much the singing part, but how enjoyable is the music to listen too? A person can make an extremely complex and difficult to play song and it can still sound like garbage to most people's ears. It's hard for me to listen to a song where the singer sounds like he is mouth F'ing the microphone, no matter how good the music may be.

And I agree some singers have voices that are hit and miss. For instance, I am not a fan of Geddys Lee's voice, but he has singing talent. It's just not my cup of tea. Matthew's simply cannot sing at all, he's so bad it's distracting.

I listened to a lot of Dave Matthews back in the 90s. I rarely hear them on the radio now even on 90s stations.  I’ve noticed bands like No Doubt or Blink 182 still get a lot of love though.

Your taste is Bad, and apparently will be Until the End of the World.

We can all agree Dave Matthews’s sucks, right?

It's funny because I don't really like DMB or Weezer but "Crush" and "Say it ain't so" might be two of my favorite songs ever.

What about Hanson?

Don't miss a concert.

Weezer is the bomb. Though I'm not hot on their more recent stuff. After Pinkerton there is some good stuff here and there but they never really got back to where they were. Cuomo is a prolific songwriter but he just started throwing crap against the wall at some point.

I just checked them out. Sounds like the kind of music they play for retarded children to calm down them down when they are having tantrums.

Saw David Gilmour live at MSG. It's really hard to put into words how amazing a live Pink Floyd concert is. Doubt I ever see a better show.

I’ve only seen one concert better than Pink Floyd.

U2

U2 and Pink Floyd were great concerts, Floyd especially, but Rush, Metallica and Foo Fighters were better, and from a purely live music aspect, so was Primus.

Did you sail the seas of cheese?

I would have liked to see Floyd and Rush in their prime in concert even though I'm not the biggest fans.

Metallica I never got into, Foo Fighters yes.

Pearl Jam occupies a weird space.

I was all up on Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver.

I saw Metallica when I was 16 and they sucked. It seemed they really cashed in on being hot and mailed it in performance wise. Very underwhelming.

Iron Maiden is great live. It almost seems that guy doesn't even need a microphone when he sings and can still reach the back rows. And Alice Cooper puts on the most amazing rock performance when he does his full stage show, but I think those days are well behind him. I saw him in a tiny theater, guillotine and all, about 15 years ago in Lakewood NJ. Most memorable show of my life.

Rush! I think that's the band I dislike rather than Styx. Can't believe I confused the two. I absolutely hate the vocals of Rush.

Might be my all time favorite band. So many amazing songs.

What’s your opinion of Temple of the Dog?

Loved them of course. I'm a big Soundgarden and Pearl Jam fan so obviously that band had the sound I loved.
