Right. Now we're getting somewhere. Exclude the darkies and colonialists are basically united, eh.  At least you're honest about what's really going on here.

They buy Russian commodities, for starters.

Russia gets spanked trying to take Kyiv ... "Kyiv wasn't that important, we never really wanted it..."

Russia gets spanked trying to take Kharkiv.. "it's a side show.. we never really wanted it.."

How about the LNR and DNR troops that had to retreat to the Russian border and are being denied crossing under threats of being executed? I guess they're not Russian now?

If you think the Russians expect to take large, fortified cities with a few hundred troops, knock yourself out.

Ukraine is winning and Austin went pleading to Shoigu for a ceasefire as a funny. The truth is they've squeezed about as much out of Ukraine as they can.

I wonder how much of the $40 billion will actually be used to defend Ukraine.  Maybe a billiion . . . maybe.  McConnell sure looked happy meeting Zelensky today.

Brain-trust here really making a strong case...

How much do YOU think will be actually used for the war effort?  We're interested in your brainy opinion on the matter.  💪:usa::roll:

Since I’m in Northern Ireland right now I’m getting a different version of CNN right now so I don’t know if this link will work:

Russian energy supplier cuts off electricity to Finland amid NATO bid

So did they cut off the FULL 10%?  Or 5% today, 6% on Sunday, etc.

The US is the Arsenal of Democracy. $40B is a small price to pay to remind Putin and others of that.

Lol.  Like any significant amount of that money will be used in the war effort.

Nancy and Mitch, among others, are having a great pay day.  Don't be so naive.

And this pretty much sums it up.  We're dealing with corrupt Washington politicians and a corrupt government and business culture in Ukraine.  What could possibly go wrong?

It makes sense that this is the sort of stupid take you think sounds reasonable.

Yep, lots of good in Finland.  They can be a bit boring sometimes but overall a positive place.

You must be really stupid if you think those corrupt politicians in D.C. and Kiev are earmarking that $40 billion for the war effort.  It's party time for them.  What, are you the only person on the planet who believes in the trustworthiness of politicians?

May be an image of text that says 'Mom, what is betrayal? When your country is suffering from inflation from too much gov't spending, and they send $40 billion to a foreign country. lassicalliberty'

So Russia's best outcome at this point is..

1. Finland and  Sweden in NATO

2. Ukraine only in EU but not NATO

3. Somehow holding on to Crimea and some of the Eastern territory that LNR/DNR claimed, without anyone in the international community recognizing it

4. Military embarrassment.

If you had it your way you'd allow authoritarian regimes hostile to the west roll and annex land until it was too late.

Because you know that's a losing argument and makes you look like the poosy you are, now you're moving the goalposts with the "DC is corrupt and you're letting it happen".

Half of the above money is just going to roll into the defense budget to replace equipment we shipped to Ukraine. The other half is earmarked for relief and to help rebuild Ukraine.

I suspect there are indeed some in Congress that will benefit from that financially. But in the grand scheme of things denying Putin any meaningful gains (and in reality greatly weakening his position) and showing American strength to a new generation of would-be authoritarians without committing a single American troop is giving our foreign policy new teeth.

If we bring Putin to his knees with only 0.2% of our GDP, that's an absolute win.

You're a fool unable to see anything beyond the end of your nose.

So even in this ridiculous scenario where we extrapolate our total spending for a year based on the first 10 weeks of a conflict, the math is still way off. Naturally, you being a trumpbot who can't count, you take it at face value and come running to repost it here thinking it all adds up. I guess the remedial math classes at Temple and NYU are even worse than the law classes.
