May 17, 20223 yr Russia's Contracted Soldiers Threatened With Criminal Charges if They Quit https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/russias-contracted-soldiers-threatened-with-criminal-charges-if-they-quit/ar-AAXlHZy?ocid=BingNews Quote Several contracted soldiers in Russia have been sent to fight in Ukraine against their will and told that they could face criminal charges if they attempt to quit, according to a new report. Relatives of contract soldiers told Meduza, an independent Russian news outlet that operates out of Latvia, that it is nearly impossible for them to resign from the military service. According to the news outlet, Russians can enlist as a contract soldier instead of carrying out compulsory military service if they have received higher education or vocational training. Newsweek could not independently verify these claims and has contacted Russia's Defense Ministry for comment. Not yet verified.

The crazy thing is I bet his old ass hated Russia in the 70s/80s/90s, but now that he has lost all his marbles he somehow thinks Trump and Russia are good for the world. We live in terrible times. Can't wait for all the boomers to be gone from this planet.
May 17, 20223 yr So now the Dictator Putin says he has no problem with Sweeden and Findland joining NATO because they are not a threat. But he's willing to go to war because Ukraine who has no intention of applying to NATO, is? The Real Issue is Putin can't do anything about it. He is powerless and weak to stop Sweeden and Findland. He doesn't have the military power to stop them. https://www.yahoo.com/news/putin-backs-off-hardline-sweden-000950592.html STORY: Vladimir Putin appeared to climb down on Monday from Russia's objections to Sweden and Finland joining NATO, saying Moscow had no issues with them entering the U.S.-led military alliance. PUTIN: "I want to inform you, dear colleagues, that Russia has no problem with those states, it hasn't. So, in this regard, expansion by the addition of those countries poses no direct threat for us. But the expansion of military infrastructure into this territory would certainly provoke our response. What that (response) will be - we will see what threats are created for us." The comments appeared to mark a major shift in rhetoric. Moscow for decades has cast NATO expansion as a direct threat to Russia's security, including citing it as a justification for the invasion of Ukraine itself.

This is so f'd up, and most everybody here is losing sight of the big picture and how the West has bungled this to the detriment of its own citizens. There are some here he seem to be more concerned about the well being of Ukrainians instead of that of their own families. From where I'm sitting, things are going to get a lot worse economically for us. We would have been much better off without instigating the 2014 color revolution. I hope we aren't faced with significant shortages of food and other important commodities, but suspect we will.

Instead of cutting their losses and reversing course, the West is doubling down and undercutting their own economies even more. Nobody seems to be a true statesman bold enough to put on the brakes. It's as if they want to collapse the whole shebang and "build back better" according to the Davos agenda.
