Here's the truly hysterical part -- the current situation is ideal for the US. Russia's military is engaged and has been seriously degraded to the point that they have to bring in foreign troops. We a

So Russia had to dig their stash of mothballed Soviet era tanks out. That should go well.

Those tanks fortify the lands under Russian control. They aren't supposed to see action. If they do, something has gone terribly wrong.

They may as well use inflatable tanks.

Good! But what does this really mean? Will it change anything? Or is it just symbolic rhetoric?

It means Russia will sell to the East and Europe will have energy/inflation issues.

I mean, does Europe hold up their end of the bargain? Orban has already demanded an exception in Hungary.

They ban one pipeline, so Russia feeds oil into Europe using another?

Oh really?

What's Russia going to do? Send it through the non existent pipelines from eastern Siberia?

They were already close to maxing out their capacity from East Siberia to China and that was only 700k bbls day via pipeline and 900k bbls a day via ship.

They can't even increase output from East Siberia until 2025.

So, no.

Oil prices are just his backhanded way of supporting Russia.  Not like we haven't been watching this dog perform the same tricks for decades.

Caused the midday drop in oil prices:

Exempting Russia from its oil-production targets could potentially pave the way for Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other producers in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries to pump significantly more crude, something that the U.S. and European nations have pressed them to do as the invasion of Ukraine sent oil prices soaring above $100 a barrel.

Clinton 2016 campaign lawyer acquitted of lying to the FBI

A lawyer for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign was acquitted Tuesday of lying to the FBI when he pushed information meant to cast suspicions on Donald Trump and Russia in the run-up to the 2016 election.

A jury in Washington on Tuesday found a former attorney for Hillary Clinton's U.S. presidential campaign not guilty of lying to the FBI when he met with the bureau in September 2016 to share a tip about possible communications between Donald Trump's business and a Russian bank.

The verdict to acquit attorney Michael Sussmann was a blow to Special Counsel John Durham, who was appointed by former Attorney General William Barr during Trump's administration to probe any missteps in the FBI's investigation into whether Trump's campaign was colluding with Russia.

"While we are disappointed in the outcome, we respect the jury’s decision and thank them for their service," Durham said in a statement.

Trump, on his Truth social media platform, lambasted the jury's decision, claiming without evidence that the legal system is "corrupt."

In a statement, Sussmann's attorneys on Tuesday called the case an example of "extraordinary prosecutorial overreach."

"Politics is no substitute for evidence, and politics has no place in our system of justice," they added.

Couple things about this "ban" on Russian oil.

1. The supposed ban doesn't take effect until the end of the year. What do you think EU will do between now and then? They're going to buy as much Russian oil as they can to fill up their reserves before winter hits. Assuming the ban does go into effect, the EU can limp along through the winter surviving on reserves. Come summer, maybe the Russians are on their knees and begging for the EU to come to their rescue- not! Russia will find other buyers. In case you haven't noticed, there's an economic bloc forming in the East and it's going to be massive.

2. Like with most things emanating from the West these days, the document is not worth the paper it's written on. The EU will seek to evade their own sanctions while telling themselves it working like a charm. Greek tankers will load to the gills with Russian oil as usual, then head to some port where they will swap ownership, flag and paperwork. Like magic, the cargo will no longer be Russian and free to dock in EU ports. Maybe they'll mix the Russian oil with some other oil to give themselves even more deniability. At the end of the day, the EU will still consume Russian oil, the only difference is they'll pay a lot more for it since the middle man they've inserted will have to make his cut.

Keep up this sort of madness and green energy will seem cheap by comparison. Hummm.....

How long before some general get's fed up and puts a bullet in Zelensky's head?

A bullet in Putin's head is much more likely.

I'm taking the parlay; bullet to Zelinsky's head AND Putin strung by the balls in Red Square.
