Occasionally you see some blue and yellow Ukraine flags while out and about, or you hear something about Ukraine refugees. Other than that, it's the same as it was. When we were in Ireland back in May, a lot of hotels were at capacity from Ukrainian refugees. Apparently Ireland takes in refugees on the reg, out of desperation.

If you read the **** that posts here, Russia already took over Ukraine in its entirety, along with Germany, Australia and most of Alaska.

Russia will never again expose itself to the weaponized financial gulag of the West. Capital flight from Europe is well underway and, if Powell hikes interest rates another 75/100bps, that flight will accelerate. Maybe Russia shouldn't invade nations aligning themselves with the west then?

I doubt the Russians give a crap what the West thinks, at this point. They are going to look out for their own national interests and there isn't a damned thing the globalists can do about it.

And they're not even going to get anything out of Ukraine for it.

September 2, 20223 yr btw - Energy concerns are super high up on the Euro agenda right now. Things are really starting to bubble a bit here in Sweden especially. The latest report estimates that a normal small house owner in the Stockholm region will have to pay up to $9k for energy during the six month Oct-March period. Other reports put the number a bit higher or lower. Down in the southern parts of Sweden the numbers are even higher. Some companies have already stopped production or have planned stoppages as well.
September 2, 20223 yr Russians continue to claim shelling/missiles near the nuclear facility are coming from Ukraine.... I suppose after seeing some Russian missiles do a 180° after launch and turn around to destroy the launcher this seems a plausible lie to a Russian..

What was the Oct-March costs back in 2019, and earlier in 2011 (last time oil was spiking)? Just looking for a baseline and diff. Back in 2011-2012 I was paying about $4k for that same time period here in PA, though even here I was on the rather high end given how little of my homes energy at the time came from natural gas.

The latest estimate that I read was for about 2.5 to 3x more. Some estimates have gone as high as 5x. Swedish homes are smaller on average than US homes. Insulation is generally quite good. Many have thermal units which help a lot but need supplemental electric based boosts when it gets real cold.
