Russia didn't have sufficient forces to defend these areas so they redeployed to more defendable positions. Remember, this is a Special Military Operation, not a full scale war. Russia has not committed to occupying all of Ukraine.

I'm sure the Russians know this isn't really about Ukraine. The Colonialists are having another go at Russia to break her apart and plunder their natural resources. They want to "extend" Russia militarily, weaken her economically and politically to cause internal disintegration. Knowing this, those damned Ruskies are not cooperating. They are not moving to a full mobilization and war economy. They are not sending men and material in large numbers to their destruction in Ukraine. Up till now, they've been allowing the Donbas militias to do the majority of combat. That means there isn't enough manpower in Ukraine to defend everywhere, at once. These are self-imposed restraints. Instead, they are holding back, moving slowly to clear Donbas, and forging an alternative economic order to deny the imperialists objectives.

No. Nobody wants to "invade" Russia. That is idiotic nonsense that Russian leaders feed the useful idiots that make up most of their population (as well as 2nd generation Russians in Baltimore apparently) in order to keep them "dependent" on the strong-man at the top.

It's what Russians want apparently, so by all means keep supporting imperialists like Putin who occupy the top of a corrupt pyramid of cards. They collapse, then build another one, and Russians seem totally happy with that.

Just don't think that when Russia decides it needs to invade a sovereign nation in the West's orbit because of made-up "security concerns" that we (the West) is going to sit back and ignore our own security needs

Russia is the belligerent here.

Municipal deputies from Moscow and St. Petersburg call for Putin’s resignation

Deputies from 18 municipal districts in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kolpino have called for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s resignation, according to a petition with a list of signatures posted on Twitter on Monday.

"We, the municipal deputies of Russia, believe that the actions of its president Vladimir Putin are detrimental to Russia’s and its citizens’ future. We demand Vladimir Putin's resignation from the post of the President of the Russian Federation,” said the petition posted by Ksenia Thorstrom, a local deputy of the Semenovsky District in Saint Petersburg.

The petition follows Russia’s first regional and municipal elections since the start of the war, which brought a sweeping victory for pro-Kremlin candidates.

"The petition's text is concise and does not "discredit” anyone. If you are mundep [municipal deputy] and want to join, you are welcome,” Thorstrom said in a Twitter post.

The council of one Moscow district (Lomonosovsky) also demanded Putin's resignation, saying: "Your views and your model of government are hopelessly outdated and hinder the development of Russia and its human potential."

Last week, the deputies of the Smolninskoye municipality of St. Petersburg called on the State Duma of the Russian Federation to bring charges of treason against Vladimir Putin. Several of them now face charges for discrediting the Russian army, according to a Twitter post from one of the local officials, Nikita Yuferev.

Well, you do seem really weak and pathetic. You are having your ass handed to you by the Ukraine.

Let's invade. We can use the resources that the Russians squander.

hey @Abracadabra, here's what actual liberation looks like:

Anyway, aren't you in Ukraine? You should know this.

"The platform offers so much flexibility it's stupid not to use," a retired US Army Delta Force operator told Insider.

"Granted, we used them because they allowed us to blend into the environment and get closer to the target without getting shot at, but the Ukrainians are using them because that is one of the things that is available to them," the retired operator added, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of ongoing work with the government.

Isn’t it obvious. The west has been planning all along to invade Russia. So, Putin made the genius move of invading Ukraine, thereby giving the west a reason to attack. If Putin hadn’t, then the west wouldn’t have been able to execute its plan and…

Error. Logic fault. Russian bot requires reset.

Don’t you worry, Putin resigning is all part of Putin’s plan.

You realize that if Russia never invaded another country none of this would have happened right? No sanctions, thousands of Russians and Ukrainians would still be alive and with their families, European countries would still be happily buying Russian oil and lining Putin’s pockets. No one ever had any intention of invading Russia. Putin caused all of this and looks like a weak fool because of it.

Just…..wow.  Taking naval torpedo men, training them in tank warfare for a week and sending them out to die.  Russia is a joke.  I actually feel terrible for this kid.

Ukraine has pushed the Russians all the way to the Russian border.

Oh dear.

While I am excited about the recent news, now is a difficult and uncertain time.  Hopefully we will here of Putin’s ouster and not some crazy escalation.
