February 23, 20223 yr Ukraine calls up reservists, declares emergency amid crisis with Russia: updates https://www.yahoo.com/news/ukraine-calls-reservists-declares-emergency-120617069.html Ukraine was poised to implement a 30-day state of emergency on Wednesday, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called up military reservists, as Russia recognized two separatist regions as independent and appeared mobilized for major military action. Zelenskyy said that Ukraine wants "silence" but noted it must act. "But if we remain silent today, we will disappear tomorrow," he said late Tuesday. The nation's parliament must approve the emergency declaration, initiated by Ukraine's security council and coming a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin received permission from lawmakers to use troops outside the country. The Kremlin's actions drew wide condemnation and major sanctions from the United States and European Union.

Fact: Russia invaded Ukraine during the Obama and Biden administrations, but not during the Trump administration. And no, it has nothing to do with Vikas' assertion that it's because Trump was "weakening" NATO. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10539215/Republicans-tear-Biden-slow-sanction-Putin-parties-demand-crackdown.html Trump says the Ukraine situation would NEVER have happened under him because he knows Putin 'very well': Republicans say Biden's 'weakness' has 'emboldened' Russia and BOTH parties urge tough sanctions When asked if he thought Putin was a killer, Trump said "and we're so good?" When asked why relations weren't better between the US and Russia, he blamed America and called America "foolish". When our own intelligence agencies said Russia was hacking our systems and interfering in elections, he sided with Putin. But sure, Trump would be tough on Russia this time. When Trump supporters are characterized as slack jawed, mouth breathing, moronic rubes who will believe anything, this is exactly why.

I said nothing about Hitler actually. This is more about Putin trying to regain the Soviet empire. He even stated so much.

Or because after WW2 we crafted international law that said countries couldn't simply redefine borders and annex sovereign countries anymore as to avoid another world war. This was the same reason, and rightfully so, why we went to war with Iraq the first time.
February 23, 20223 yr Funny, sure seems like the right comparing everyone to Hitler these days. Every mask mandate is like the Holocaust all over again. BLM protesters block traffic = horror show Canadian protesters block traffic = patriotism and fighting knot zees.

My parents, and I assume yours as well, are old enough to remember having duck and cover drills in school and the near end of humanity during the Cuban missile crisis. But go ahead, praise Putin like our lunatic former President.
February 23, 20223 yr Fact is, Ukraine is not a Member of NATO. Ukraine borders Russia and acts as a barrier to the west for Russia. Poland was used the same way between Germany and the Soviets. They called it a buffer zone. The USA has sent military arms and hardware to Ukraine, Troops and Jets to NATO countries, and sanctioned Russia, but it's up to Ukraine to defend itself. The USA isn't going to fight Russia over Ukraine which has been a part of the Soviet Union in the past. While Ukraine shares democratic values now, that's not enough to send in our forces. If they were a member of NATO that would be a different story, but they are not. Let's hope Ukraine puts up a good fight and makes Russia bleed for their invasion. The Radical Right are up in arms that Biden is weak. They must believe Severe Sanctions will stop Russia from overthrowing the government and installing their Puppet leader who is anti West. However, there is nothing the world can do to stop Putin the Russian Dictator.

We have lost enough sons and daughters and spent enough money on wars we shouldn't have been in. That's on both parties. Our major cities are literally falling apart, inflation is through the roof, most people can't afford a home, gas prices are up, and our national debt is a real problem. I don't give a damn about the Ukraine. Let Germany, France, the UK, and anyone else who wants to get involved handle it. This BS about us having to bear the cost...screw that. ahhhh....isolationism. That should work in today's global economy (I hope you get my sarcasm here).
