I was.  And then the best he could come up with is "wrong" so I dropped it

What do you say, Germany? There's a chance your people won't freeze to death. Maybe your industry survives. Hurry and make a decision before the Brits get wind of this. Defy your colonial masters or freeze.

Agreed. Thats why I kept it brief.

I only said that because I wanted to drop it too. You can look foolish in your own thread. In here, I like to read about Ukraine dominating Russia like I dominate you on salary cap.

First OPEC+ was considering an output cut by 1 million br/dy. Biden's medulla went off... threatened the Saudis.

Now the cut is 2 million br/dy.

A couple smart Russians. The rest will follow soon.

How close they came to using nukes in Vietnam is beside the point. They considered using them. The U.S. could not consider using nukes if they didn't have a first strike doctrine. The real danger of nuclear war emanates from the crazies in the U.S. who've demonstrated the willingness to use nukes on at least two occasions.

I think you're confusing Vietnam with Korea. MacArthur had a falling out with Truman over wanting to use hydrogen bombs to turn North Korea into a nuclear wasteland and an anticommunist buffer between China and South Korea

Thanks for the free crap, Russia!

Good!

No. I'm referring to events surrounding the Tet offensive in 1968. There was a secret operation called "Fractured Jaw" which Johnson eventually shut down.

The upcoming war is going to be glorious!

It is in this conflict. Not a single town has been forcibly retaken by Ukraine in this entire battle. NOT ONE!

Zaporizhzhia will never be part of Ukraine again. It, like all of the Donbas, is now Russian- forever.

The Minsk II accords implementation would have been much better for Ukraine.

I was right about that too.

Uh, yeah, the military did some studies on the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons. That's like, part of their job - to assess the military efficacy and effectiveness of weaponry in our arsenal.

Nuclear weapons were never considered by Johnson, it was the military gaming out how such a weapon might be deployed and its impact so that if they were ever asked they had an answer.

Stuff Abracadabra was right about two months ago.

I'll admit I underestimated the willingness of Ukrainians to throw themselves into artillery lines and die by the tens of thousands to buy temporary headlines. This is a last-ditch effort to present some meager sign of effectiveness before the rains come and Russia builds it forces.

Enjoy it, plebs. This is the gasp.

Right. A first use of nuclear weapons capability was readied for the president.

It's not as if Vietnam was nuclear armed and this was a response.

Like I said, the only party with dirty hands on this question is the U.S..

Except the only one threatening nukes is your puss-bag side.

You have no high horse. You have no pedestal. Your moral high ground is a swamp filled with methgators.

The gasp was Russia's hollowed out military being exposed.

Russia is done. Regardless of how this war turns out even, and it will turn out badly for Russia, Putin has destroyed Russia's standing in the world - INCLUDING among his own "allies" and friendlies.

NOBODY respects Russia's military the way they did before. And unless Russia's culture does a 180° turn, they're going to stay that way. Because a rotten culture bears poor fruit.

Russia's standing is so destroyed in the world that OPEC+ just told Biden's medulla to go take a hike.

If you were actually russian and lived in russia, how fast would you have hightailed it out when this started? Before or after all those other men left?

My bet is before.
