Edit: not to mention the numerous instances of Trumplicans in here claiming if Trump was president this wouldn't have happened. Which is when Trump really started being discussed. And of course Trump is out there saying the election being stolen is the direct cause of this invasion If Biden doesn't cut Russia from SWIFT you'll hear me talking about being too weak. But if Trump had been making exactly the same moves Biden had made, which is basically everything he could possibly do short of committing the US military to Ukraine's defense (which would invite an actual hot war with Russia), Trumplicans would be in here defending him vociferously. You know that's true. While true, I just don’t understand what purpose it serves to operate in those types of what-if scenarios (both D’s and R’s). Serves no purpose and deviates from the matter at hand. I’ll go back to lurking now.

Sorry you did that to yourselves. Hope the stupid posts help you feel better. Trump says, "I'm tough," and you utter morons believe him. He bows to Putin, he bows to Kim Jong, and you still pretend he was tough. Up the medication, it ain't working. You are having more breaks with reality.

Former presidents typically either stay out of the news or if they do speak up it's in support of the current American president regardless of party. How the most recent former president is using this invasion should tell people everything they need to know about why he had no business being in the White House.
February 24, 20223 yr Just flicked through the news at lunchtime and the EU and UK are blithering on about more sanctions. It's embarrassing to see nothing new being offered - they talked for weeks about war and did nothing when Navalny was poisoned nor when Putin's minions tried to poison the bloke in Salisbury. You can't negotiate with someone like Putin. Even someone like me can see. Has Biden commented yet? I see Trump pushed himself out in front of the press
February 24, 20223 yr Next question. When does Putin feel emboldened enough to invade the Baltics? THIS is why we have to stand up to this nonsense

Over here, for the past week, the talk of invasion and war has been treated as joke by half the country. Another quarter say let Ukraine go to hell, we don't care. Short of moving in troops, what should and could be done?
February 24, 20223 yr Look at this idiot: as though screwing over a generation of Brits by Brexit wasn't enough, now he's cucking for Putin on Twitter.

He's doing what every competent president would do, which is try to organize a global response. Where some MAGATs are correct is Trump wouldn't have done any of that. Instead he'd have joined with China on this and cheered Putin on like he did the 4 years he was in office.

He probably would have been happy to do it since Ukraine spurned his requests to manufacture dirt on Biden during the election.

I'm not a military expert, but perhaps look at DDOS/Cyber Warfare and look to hobble Russia's military infrastructure - if this was pending for so long, plan and execute it. Or fling a few dead cows at the Russian tanks? We've had the same over here. Govts have been crying wolf for so long on many topics, I am not the only who thinks, yeah right, whenever I bother to turn the news on and see whatever slop the media serve up. Biden squinting at an autocue doesn't really show much deterrence either, nor does Johnson's bedraggled state when droning on about whatever. We have all these military experts and they offered the people of Ukraine nothing but thoughts and prayers.

If western nations engage in actual military operations it will give Putin the excuse it wants to start a full scale war with the west. Both the UK and US supplied Ukraine with significant amounts of military weapons and material support. Javelins have taken out about a dozen Russian tanks, and about a half dozen Russian jets have been taken out. That's unfortunately a drop in the bucket, but this was always going to be asymmetric at least at this stage. I have no idea if the terrain is conducive - I suspect not - but Ukraine's best hope has always been forcing Russians into a protracted campaign via guerrilla tactics.
