Alleged "Russian spy whale" enters Swedish waters

NSZyrbM.jpg

A beluga whale known internationally as an alleged Russian "spy" has entered Swedish waters, an organization set up to track the whale announced Monday.

The whale, nicknamed Hvaldimir, garnered international fame in 2019 after it was spotted wearing a specially made harness with mounts for a camera, leading experts to believe that it may have been trained by the Russian military.

"After four years of swimming south down the coast of Norway, Hvaldimir — known worldwide as the 'Russian spy' beluga whale — is now in Swedish waters,” the organization OneWhale said in a statement.

Hvaldimir was recently spotted in Norway’s capital Oslo, prompting concerns for the whale’s safety given the heavy boat traffic in the area.

"But the famous beluga skirted around the dangerous waters of Oslo for Sweden,” OneWhale’s statement said. "We are impressed by Sweden's show of care for Hvaldimir. They immediately contacted us upon his arrival, and even closed a bridge to protect him."

President of OneWhale, Rich German, said, "Hvaldimir's situation remains an extremely vulnerable one as Sweden is a highly populated country, but we are very grateful Swedish authorities have quickly taken action to care for the whale."

no doubt this is an @Abracadabradesign.

Today, the UK acts as Ukraine’s ally providing it with military aid in the form of equipment and specialists, i.e., de facto is leading an undeclared war against Russia. That being the case, any of its public officials (either military, or civil, who facilitate the war) can be considered as a legitimate military target.

They have appeared to shift strategy on that front.  Instead of using them in a pure forward assault capability I read they are shifting to using them more as a support artillery capacity.  I'm not sure how true or widespread that is.

I'm not a general or anything, but there is no way using a tank as wannabe artillery can be nearly as effective as using, I dunno, actual artillery.

I was going by memory and paraphrasing poorly.  This is the article and the quote I had in mind

The report, based on multiple interviews with Ukrainian officers in the field, outlined areas where Russia has adapted after its bungled initial invasion last year.

Ever since their humiliating losses earlier in the war, Russian forces have stopped trying to use armor to break through Ukraine's ranks directly, the UK-based Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) wrote in a report released Friday. Instead, Russian tanks nowadays effectively provide backup for artillery, long-range firepower, and quick raids.

"The Russian use of of armor has evolved significantly during the conflict," the authors wrote, adding: "While the introduction of older tanks such as the T62 and T55 to the field has been mocked online, these vehicles are largely being used in the role of the fire support function offered by BMPs and other infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs)."

😂😂😂 What a f@cking horrible idea from a russian standpoint… It’s going on 16 months you haven’t been able to take care of Ukraine. Now you want to cry about Ukraine lobbing a couple shots across the russian border? You think you want to drag a UN nation into the fight because some of the equipment came from them?!?!

😂😂😂 Good luck!

Holy crap, he was excited about that?

UK is now Russia's eternal enemy.

Btw this is the same guy Obama promised more flexibility to after the elections

Ukraine has more men around Artemovsk than the island nation has in it's entire military. Face it, Britain has it's hand up the U.S.'s ass or nobody would take them seriously.

And further more, as for the U.N., inconsequential nations like Britain and France should be removed from the Security Council and replaced with more relevant nations like India and Brazil.

"I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, ‘This is genius.’ Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine — Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful,” Trump said in a radio interview with "The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.” "He used the word ‘independent’ and ‘we’re gonna go out and we’re gonna go in and we’re gonna help keep peace.’ You gotta say that’s pretty savvy.”

"I knew Putin very well. I got along with him great. He liked me. I liked him. I mean, you know, he’s a tough cookie, got a lot of the great charm and a lot of pride. But the way he — and he loves his country, you know? He loves his country."

russia's military might pretty much adds up to a few guys vodka pissing against a castle wall.

but what else could we expect from pathetic sheethole of a country filled caveman level intelligence.

Let me get this straight… Britain has its hand up the US’s ass playing us like a puppet master, but in your next sentence Britain is inconsequential? Less relevant than… Brazil?

What insight are you giving us next? Earth is a triangle?

Im sure you have a point, just not sure what it is.

Is it "But Trump?"

We can go back through the timelines again if you guys want:

--Obama promises "flexibility after elections" and "resets" (hint, hint) our relationship with Russia in 2012.

--They invade Crimea in 2014 and Obama does nothing.

--Trump serves as POTUS from 2017 to 2021 (crickets)

--Biden is POTUS in 2021. Russia invades in Feb 2022.

Its almost like a pattern where weak arse incompetent POTUSes encourage Russia to be psychotic on a global stage.  Thats just coincidence though and this is all Trumps fault, even Crimea.

"The Russian invasion was Biden's fault!"

This and other brain-damaged takes from a toothless West Virginian rube who couldn't figure out why DeSantis never had a shot at the nomination and why that ultimately means 4 more years of Biden.

Good counterpoint where you completely made absolutely no counterpoint and instead personally attacked me.

Would you like to try again or are you just having one of those days where you act like youre 14?

No no, I'm sure your incessant and reflexive defense of Trump is a complete anomaly and not a shared trait among all the other mouth breathers who will show up to the primaries to prove you wrong about how relevant Trump still is in the party.

I didnt even bring up Trump, Van Ham did.

This was actually VanHams reflexive defense of Obama.  I stated facts.

But good thing you rushed to his defense and totally misinterpreted everything about the conversation, though. Totally on brand for you.

I didnt even blame Biden for Russians invasion, youre just a moron as usual.

After you brought up Obama, dumb ass. Between the two, one is far more relevant being that he's the de facto nominee of one of the two major political parties. The fact that you tried to take your pot shot while being completely oblivious to 4 years of Trump gargling Putin's balls on a national stage surprises absolutely no one. I'm not saying all hypocrites are trumpbots, but all trumpbots are 100% hypocrites.

 Oh ok, the implication that he was a weak arse president wasn't blaming him at all. Does this actually work on people you interact with in your day-to-day life? People from that God-forsaken state must be even dumber than I thought.

I'm not sure what you're confused about.  You were ree-ing that Obama would dare say something so obvious and innocuous to put Putin like he had more flexibility after an election, and I pointed out that Trump publicly sucked off the fascist dictator (because obviously Trump and the entire MAGA right supports Russia in this fight).

Also, Russia was fighting a proxy war in Ukraine during the Trump Presidency.  It's hard to forget because Trump used that proxy war as leverage to try and bribe Zelensky.

Yeah, I brought up Obama who is a completely different person than Trump, can you even believe that?

And considering the facts I laid out, it would seem to indicate that Obama is pretty damn relevant considering they annexed Crimea during his term after Obama promised flexibility and reset our relations under his naive polyanna view of the world.

That dumb MFer set the stage for all of this.

He said something so obvious that it was whispered privately but caught on a hot mic.  Obama clearly wanted to project once stance to American citizens while backdoor dealing with Russia.  That's what that was all about.

And instead you did a "But Trump" because you have absolutely no defense for Obamas total incompetence with respect to foreign relations.

Particularly completely being obvious to the Russian threat, as he further highlighted by literally mocking Romney during a debate for even considering them a geopolitical threat.

A short while later....

I didnt blame Biden you moron, I said his weakness and incompetence gave Russia the encouragement to do what they wanted.

Its different but youre too dumb to understand the nuance, again as per usual.

Yeah, you know exactly what Im saying.  I guess youre just too confused to offer up anything besides 'But Trump' because both Obama and Biden are horrifically incompetent when it comes to foreign relations.

They literally joked about even considering Russian a geopolitical threat.  How f'ing stupid do they look now?
