Couldn’t disagree more with your last sentence.  Likely Shoigu and others in MoD are the scapegoats here.  Could be way for Putin to end hostilities and hold on to power.

We shall see.  He certainly has to do something drastic and make a clear statement.  That much is certain.

Wow!  So now Kremlin dropping charges on Prigo and he is going into exile in Belarus

None of this makes any sense. What worries me is that down the line him in Belarus will lead to another invasion from the north.

Spared his head, for now.  Other leaders in Wagner will be pikes on heads.

Everybody who has bought into the demonization of Putin and cheering on the Wagner forces should be careful for what they hope for.  If there's a coup in Russia, it's very possible that Putin will wind up looking like a liberal democrat when all is said and done.

Nahhhh

It will be interesting to see what happens now to Prigozhin.  No way he is alive a month from now.

Which is why stopping makes so little sense

Could also be that this was a way for Wagner to run like rats from a sinking ship in Ukraine. 25,000 troops and not much heavy equipment from the looks of the convoy. They've been beat up and need a place to regroup, lick wounds, and enlist more convicts. Might be that it was an extreme gambit but born of necessity rather than a power move on Moscow.

He had to have been bought off, somebody backed up the brinks truck to get him to call off the dogs. Problem is, the money is no good if you get two in the back of the head before you can spend it all.

Lukashenko, Wagner, Putin...

Foreign reports are that Russian military forces bombed fuel depots in Rostov to prevent Wagner's forces from refueling.  At least one foreign country has warned its nationals against traveling to Russia, and instructing those in Russia to return home.

Cheering Wagner was like cheering Littlefinger at the Battle of the ****.  We know damn well he's a villain.

Tell me you're rooting for Putin without saying you're rooting for Putin.

Who cares about Putin you idiot.  When the Russians invaded Afghanistan, did we cry about Brezhnev?  Wake up to the fact that Russia has by in large been a malign nation since its formation, regardless of who's in power.  If it's not Putin, it'll be somebody else.  It's a country run by strongmen and pretty much always has been except for a brief period during the 90's.

You're an idiot if you don't.

The implication that Putin has been unjustly "demonized" might be one of the dumbest things you've ever said on here, and that includes all the times you tried to claim horse dewormer was a miracle cure for covid.

"Unjustly" is a word you added.  Demonization is common today among the insane crowd that you are a part of.  Morons like you are pitting this as "Putin" against the West.  This is a Russian action against Ukraine very much in the same way that the Russians invaded Afghanistan.  You probably aren't old enough to remember, but the Afghan war was not coined as Brezhnev's war.  Russia is an unruly place that lends itself to be governed by strongmen.  If Putin exits another strongman will take his place.  Wake up and smell the coffee.  Nah, you're too indoctrinated to think rationally.

You said we all "bought into the demonization", so the implication was obvious. Putin is a genocidal maniac, there is no need to buy into anything. He is a despicable dictator of a hostile foreign nation that's one of our largest enemies. Turn off Fox News and pick up a history book, you ass clown.

Putin is the one driving the nationalism and desire to return to the days of the empire. He doesn’t just give up his own level of responsibility because it is a historical desire of many Russians.

So instead of demonizing, we should have a more nuanced opinion of Putin's genocidal land grab of a sovereign country? Perhaps consider his wants and needs?
