The counter offensive has felt forced and politically motivated from the get go.  Ukraine could probably just hold their line and wait for Russia to crumble from within, but instead they have been forced to prove they can take Crimea back. That said, it's f'ing incredible to believe that Ukarine is even hitting back at all a year into the campaign.

 

This would be a good time to get negotiating, upcoming elections in US & Europe must have both sides shaking.
