Sweden NATO update - Turkey parliament finally reopened after the long summer break.  Turkey has decided to continue holding out using Sweden as a pawn in their move to secure F-16s.  Time for Biden to either go ahead and deliver those or put the hammer down on Turkey in some way and force them to move to ratify.

Erdogan needs to be played hardball with. It’s all posturing for domestic support. You can’t have one member throwing a temper tantrum to try and score some internal political points.

He needs to be reminded that we are heading for a second Cold War, and during our first Cold War we loved regime change.

A few years ago Russia wasnt even on your radar, now no amount of US taxpayer money is enough to fight your neocon war. Liberals are bootlicking warmongers

Putin invaded Georgia in 2008 and the Crimean peninsula in 2014 (which is part of Ukraine).  Fwiw, Mike.  It's not like Putin just started invading his neighbors in 2021.

Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. Throw him a bone and tell him to fetch and then go lie down.

"We haven’t lost one soldier in the Ukraine war, spent less than 5 percent of our military budget. Fifty percent of the Russian army has been destroyed by the Ukrainians, so they would be at Crimea already if the administration hadn’t been so slow and given weapons,” Graham said.

Like a broken clock, even Graham is occasionally right.

Reports of the Not-zzz withdrawing forces from Robotyne.

Safe to say that the much ballyhooed NATO offensive has failed miserably.

Notice that the warmongers are telling us now that Russia has been severely weakened by this masterful neo-fascist policy of bleeding the Ukraine without a single U.S. mercenary participating. Money well spent they say out of one side of their mouth. Out of the other, they tell us that Russia is a threat to all of Europe and if we don't stop them here then Poland and blah blah blah.

The failure of this policy requires a weak boogieman. Weak so that the zombies remain catatonic in their support (see, it's working. now go back to your porn), and simultaneously a frightening menace which could roll across Europe the minute the billions for the MIC is cut off (gotta keep feeding flesh, bone and federal reserve notes into the grinder.)

Given that the bulk of that is in the sticker price of old and in some cases broken military equipment, probably bought them a few square KM of their land back from Russia.

So says the side fighting for the Ukraine's sovereignty and democracy. <_<

Now you're being honest about the imperial nature of U.S. foreign policy. This same arrogance and hubris is at the heart of the Ukraine conflict- regime change in Russia.

I remember when the super duper NATO gear in the hands of the Ukraine was supposed to smash the inferior Russian junk and lead swiftly to Russia's defeat.

Now we're told that the hundreds of billions in NATO gear was just old and broken down scrap metal diverted from the junkyard to the Ukraine.

F'ing hilarious!

Shhh.... I want Procus to break it down

when you're willing to put a mine in every square meter, progress is going to be slow regardless. sucks, but the further they get the less dense the minefields become, but it also gives Russia time to mine additional fields.

I'd like to know whether cluster munitions are being used here, my understanding was that one of their uses was to clear minefields. even then it'd be slow going but should improve time to breach still?

If the Ukrainians had any sense and were fighting for themselves, they'd retreat to the west bank of the Dnieper and begin building their own fortifications and minefields.

Unfortunately for them, this isn't about the Ukraine and the real goal has been NATO threatening Russia from a naval base in Crimea. The U.S. fascists have yet to give up on that objective given such low costs. You know, money (and Ukrainian blood) well spent.
