so, being a little sarcastic translated from ree ree to english means, I failed once again.

What's your prediction for the outcome of today's call?

 

I think the overriding message will be "Putin is ready for peace", "Trump is ready for peace", "Zelensky is not ready for peace".  Specifically, they will have some sweeping positive pro peace message and then come with these few details:

1. Ukraine must hold elections before the process can continue

2. US agrees to recognize Crimea as part of Russia, either right away or at least upon a cease fire (this one is less likely)

3. Russia agrees it will not attack Ukraine again if a full peace deal with all terms is signed ; fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me

4. Good progress on all details but the next step is Zelensky to call for a general election

 

The bottom line is that Putin does not want peace.  He wants full control of Ukraine and with the US backing off and some improvement for him on the battlefield he isn't ready to stop any time soon.

I think he will likely say something stupid or something that is not true after the call.  He's a f.ng clown.

I don't think Putin agrees to any cease fire. He will make outrageous demands to stall like a completely disarmed Ukraine which they would be fools to agree to.

Yeah, that's baked into my prediction.  New elections are close to impossible in Ukraine and would take months to pull together in any case.  Also, Zelensky will never agree to anything without the security guarantee.  Putin knows those things so he risks nothing by saying he is ready to have a cease fire as he knows there will never be one.  Putin has also said on several occasions that nothing can happen unless everything happens for a full peace deal.  Putin will just be saying he agrees but of course has no intention of an actual cease fire.

It's not that complicated. Putin will put forward insane and unworkable terms like elections, a completely disarmed Ukraine, no security guarantees, etc. Trump will say yes, because he is a complete moron. Zelenksy will say no because he knows it will mean the end of Ukraine. Trump will blame Zelensky for being a warmonger and cut off all aid to Ukraine. Ukraine will collapse and be overrun by Russia.

Yep, all the while Putin will say he's ready for a cease fire and peace deal which Trump will broadcast loudly while he blames Zelensky.

And there it is. We cut off Ukraine and Putin says he will talk peace. In reality, he'll just steamroll the country. Went how we all knew it would.

i am sure trump stood up for ukraine. no way he will just allow a country to just walk into its neighbor and take it over.

An Economist reporter in the region wrote on X that Ukraine made an attack several kilometers into Russian territory during the Putin/Trump call

edit: that's according to a Swedish tabloid so take that with a grain of salt at this point

Yeah even if Trump cuts Ukraine off entirely I don't think Russia is just going to "roll over them". They'll keep fighting as long as they can if a deal isn't reached.

On the upside, this is negotiation. On the downside, the next Russian ask is a big one:

Putin of Russia agreed on Tuesday during a phone call with President Trump to halt strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, the Kremlin said in a statement, but restated his concerns about a broader 30-day cease-fire that the United States and Ukraine had agreed upon and proposed to Russia.

The result seemed to fall short of what Mr. Trump had been hoping for in his outreach to Moscow, after several days of optimistic-sounding pronouncements from the White House that peace was within reach.

During the call, Mr. Putin said his "key condition” to end the conflict and prevent it from escalating was a "complete cessation” of foreign military and intelligence assistance to Kyiv, the Kremlin said.

Pause in energy grid attacks comes as the weather is getting warmer in Ukraine, so I’m not sure how much of a concession it actually is. The cessation of support is big… and of course Trump broadcast that it was something he was willing to do as a result of his tantrum against Zelensky.

So far the only reporting from Ukraine I can see is that it was only Russia who was claiming the assaults took place, and that according to Russia the attacks were repelled at the border. 
 

So either the attacks didn’t take place and Russia is lying, or the attacks did take place and Russia is lying.

Trump is being played like a fiddle.
