Trump comment about Putin to Macron caught on hot mike.

'I think he wants to make a deal. I think he wants to make a deal for me,' Trump whispered to Macron in the White House East Room before their meeting started. 'Do you understand that? As crazy as it sounds.'

People vote for that and convince themselves THEY'RE the smart ones.

Could you imagine word salad lady or the demented one doing any of this?

NATO is such a Russian cuck.....

Without the help of President Donald Trump, the deadlock with Russian President Vladimir Putin would have continued, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said Monday.

Rutte said Trump was instrumental in getting the Russian leader to come to the table for discussion to ending the ongoing war in Ukraine.

"Without President Trump... This deadlock with Putin would not have been broken," Rutte said during a Monday appearance on "The Ingraham Angle.” "He was the only one who could do this, starting in February.”

Rutte also said Trump was right in his criticism of NATO over the lack of defense spending by its member states. Trump has long demanded that NATO's 32-member countries spend more to ensure their security.

The meeting/s today sound like they went amazingly well.

Might I say that based on todays discussions, and the mood in that room, it absolutely does not look like Trump was steamrolled by Putin. Which was never implied anyway.

Clearly if Trump pitched those people a very pro Russia deal, they wouldnt all be speaking so positively of the progress and ready to set up the trilateral meeting.

You guys will have to accept some Trump success, and defeat on the "steamrolled" misunderstanding. Context is so complex for some of you.

There's only one bad actor in this situation and that's Russia. Trump can't bring himself to admit that though.

Indeed it appears as if the meetings yesterday were good meetings. However, that does not mean Trump didn’t get steamrolled by Putin in Alaska. Those two items are not mutually exclusive. Let’s remember that Trump is not consistent.

The meetings amongst the allies went way better than most expected. If you cut out the other noise from Donny, it gives Ukraine, Europe and people who understand foreign policy hope for a fair peace.

The main obstacle remains and this is the most important one on this issue: Putin and Russian imperialism. Trump is just not able to understand this. He thinks that Putin is his friend and wants to do him a favor. It’s actually quite amusing seeing him being treated in a way that he usually treats others. Just sucks that these two hold so much power and influence.

Russia is refusing to commit to a meeting between Putin and Zelensky, only saying they will raise the level of delegation they send to meetings.

russia throwing a wrench into things. that's a total shocker.

It’s obvious to anyone who knows anything about the Russian logic that they are playing the "West”. They have no urgency whatsoever, as we are still sleepwalking, no one has faith that Trump will put real pressure on Putin and Ukraine is getting weaker by the day.

They don’t care if another million troops or more die to achieve their goal. Russians don’t care about their own people dying, so why should they care about the enemy…

Have to think though that if they stall all this progress that Trump thought he made with yesterdays meeting, he will throw a tantrum and increase sanctions.

Now, hes caught on camera saying "I think Putin wants to do a deal for me"

He will be embarrassed when it becomes clear again that Putin is playing him. Especially after gathering all of those european leaders in the white house, all for nothing. Thatll be a massive embarrassment directly caused by Putin.

The problem I see with your thoughts is that Trump for some reason feels inferior to Putin. It’s quite odd that he is so submissive when it comes to Putin. He should be able to already see that Putin is just trolling and embarrassing him, but he’s just not getting it.

It just seems that Trump so badly wants Putin to be his friend that he will throw away his own manhood to get his approval.

Yeah.

Regardless, this pattern has been followed before when he got played and finally said Putin is pissing him off and he slapped more sanctions on.

It may quickly be headed in that direction again if Russia is going to slow the progress that has been made.

That meeting yesterday was too huge an event to have russia backpedal from.

You know what, I actually hope you’re correct. I’ll give you props (not that you would need it from me) if your right with your assessment.

I just don’t see it happening. The meeting yesterday was good from an allies perspective, but it really means nothing if we don’t put united pressure on the Russians. They really only understand that & it’s been that way throughout history… I’m not just making it up.

As I see it, these leaders saw a confident Trump (you can hear Macron talk about his confidence in the video above) who thinks he is so close that they can skip right over a cease fire and go straight to peace. He has told Macron he thinks Putin wants to do a deal with him. He has told Zelensky, I think youll be surprised, I think Putin wants to do something.

I think there is exceptionally little wiggle room for Putin to back away right now without some sort of face saving consequence.

Trump may not be the smartest. And it may not be for the best intentions. But as youll all admit, if theres one thing he is interested in, its his image. He will not take kindly to this kind of embarrassment.
