January 13Jan 13 Recasting Skoll makes sense, but in reality, Star Wars is like modern day Star Trek. A once great legacy brand, ground into the dirt with repeatedly bad modern day films and TV programming. Whatever was released last summer put the rotten cherry on the ishy sundae awful TV and woeful video game. Granted, Disney will always be able to generate revenue from the original trilogy, but the new stuff. Nah. Its deader than a Norwegian Blue Parrot from the 1970s. No one cares any more
February 21Feb 21 We're probably about 2-3 years away from AI being indistinguishable from movie studio films.... These fan videos are getting ridiculous
February 21Feb 21 It has the potential redo some of the lower quality recent efforts and even customise the end product to a persons beliefs. Rather than the project X being the "gayest" ever, it will be for person Y but for person Z, it will be pew, pew, pew inspired. The interesting part will be if someone creates good quality EU films and the reaction of Disney once that happens. Can see a lot of freaking out in the Hollywood if they lose control of properties.
February 25Feb 25 So KK finally accepted that going out on a high note was never going to happen? I just hope whoever the poor sucker is that takes over (no Dave Jabroni please) just decanonises the Disney efforts and starts again. Make Star Wars Great Again.....
February 26Feb 26 The season will take place over 4 years with each 3 episode release representing a year
February 27Feb 27 I saw a lot of complaining about the music on the trailer, but I don't care. It looks really good.🤞its good. A smart idea to release it over 4 weeks too. A rumour floated out there is Kevin Feige is a name to look out for to replace KK - who may not be moving on from Disney. Feige was tabbed to make a Star Wars film and is big fan of the franchise

There is no reason for someone that ruined Willow (was deleted from D+ for a tax break), Indiana Jones and Star Wars should stay around and do any transition work or ensure her projects get done. What Lucasfilm needs is to burn her legacy down. Which means its Filoni in pole position to take over as he will do what she wants. Feige has issues, but has had great success

February 28Feb 28 Author They need to hit pause and figure out the direction. Hire a replacement, who should also secure the 2-3 top creative minds that will steer the franchise. They've had some good directors of episodes of The Mandalorian, Andor. Rogue One was well made and true to the franchise yet was an outside director's perspective. It hasn't all been bad. There were components of Ahsoka that were good, and even the Acolyte had some tidbits of potential but the execution was bad. I haven't seen Skeleton Crew.

This is why they need to stop and get a strategy. They need to close out the Mandalorian and Ahsoka stories. The time period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. They are supposed to close that out with a movie where they defeat Thrawn and set it up for leading into The Force Awakens. One of the problems has been all over the timeline. They've kicked around an Obi-Wan season 2. Just close out stories then move on to new stuff.
February 28Feb 28 The issue Star Wars has is the brand is tarnished to all but a minority and younger people in particular just aren't that engaged in it vs other franchises. Why? Because the recent content has been poor overall. They also made a boys brand into a girls brand and are paying for that decision - the Acolyte is a great example, as is Ahsoka. Even Mando went to girl boss thing. I'm on board with a total refresh and decanonising from film 7 onwards, because those stories are just so bad and inconsistent. Its a mess to unpick. They resurrected the emperor, killed Luke off like a wuss, Rey is charmless character with little depth, Obi Wan did stuff not alluded to in earlier films and while stuff like Andor is decent, its a diminishing return. Even the best film maker and story group can't unfeck the feck
March 5Mar 5 Those videos are great little fill ins on what could have happened. A smart company would eventually use AI to expand on items that are fairly not in a film but are part of the story. But I guess that would mean that it means locking down on lore too.
March 5Mar 5 There is some tenuous gossip out there that Kevin Feige offered a 5 year plan to untangle the mess of films 7 to 9, but this did not go down well with the powers that be at Lucasfilm when the details were presented. Hence why his film is not mentioned at all and he has been a bit of a persona non-grata to some people. its kind of ironic since Marvel has been a mess too, but just less of a mess than Lucasfilm is.
March 6Mar 6 It boggles my mind that they're still pushing this Rey BS. Just do the Knights of the Old Republic.... They already have the story developed... People actually want to see it... Its actually stunning how bad they're Fing this up
