The cast barely knows anything about the SW franchise, even basic questions.

And O'Reilly saying Hoth is the least interesting of the planets listed, smh.

Sadly, that's a concept rife in Disney. People don't make an effort to learn about the job; just turn up, act and go home. Whether in front or behind camera, and the slop created shows it

The opening of Andor episode 1 was cool.

The rest is either boring or stupid and not advancing the plot. Hard to see (only 2 episodes in so far) how they will lead this into Rogue One. These seem like filler episodes in the old 22-24 episode model instead of a shorter season where every episode should be good.

yep, weird to have so much of what seems to be filler material

Have got through 3 episodes. I question why they are 3 episodes because nothing really happens. Other than Star Wars forgetting that ships don't need fuel again

Still looks good tho

The "pew pew" scenes are good though. And ep 3 finally had some rebels vs Empire on a very small scale. Seems like they've gone backwards though, rather than more progress coming off season 1. Next few eps hopefully move the rebellion forward.

Supposedly, there is very good stuff later on with characters that appear in the films ,that moves things on for the overall Rebellion story arc that are not Andor himself.

They should have called the show something about the birth of the rebellion or something. I like that it's not just about Andor, but naming after him is odd if we see more of Mon Mothma than him. Also Andor sounds like a planet name.

Agree. Its not like most normies will know who Andor is, so calling it something more generic makes much more sense.

I can't believe Disney didn't leave Revenge of the Sith in the cinemas for longer. It did really well for a 20 year old film, and its easy money for them. Adults were taking their kids to it, so why make it 2 or so week run?

This video does a good breakdown of what the sequel movies were intended to be. From Lucas's original vision to the various iterations and changes. Even episode 9 The Rise of Skywalker from Treverow was originally going to be better than what they did. This video is 4 months old so doesn't have recent developments.

Caught up on Andor through episode 6. Halfway through the season. Mostly filler, a lot of boring stuff. The show should focus on spy/espionage more, and the Empire oppressing people. I mean it kinda is but it's stretched real thin.

I caught up on eps 5 and 6 yesterday and can't see why they wasted so much time on the eps 1 to 3, other than to pad minutes watched for ratings. Andor is getting better for sure and is more watchable now the story is happening in earnest.

From an aesthetic perspective, the program is the nearest someone has got to the OG trilogy in places; it looks like a polished version of the 1970s/80s. The CG don't feel cheap and it have colour in them, something a lot of modern programs don't do. DareDevil looked washed out, as do other programs.

I feel that man's rage at being told he was wrong.

offtopic

Dale Winton, (may he Rest in Peace), the man asking the question would have had no idea about that question being badly worded;.his interests lay in more superficial endeavours than scifi. I can guarantee no one on Supermarket Sweep would have done any deep Star Wars research for lunchtime quiz. Certainly as that was likely 25+ years ago - I'd guess it was from around the time the Phantom Menace came out.

3 episodes in. Man I've got a different opinion than you guys so far. The slow build of episode 3 worked for me. Having each ark slowly have the walls closing in over the course of the episode I thought was nicely done. Nice build of tension.

Oppress me harder wub

The buildup was too slow and padded out. Didn't need to be that, and you will see why when you catch up, at the disparities in later eps.

Episode 7-9 Spoilers

Whoa. That was really good. It went hard, finished things off, started some other things off and was a "I need more thing" vs "thankfully that's over".

Andor has been a boring mess in parts, but props where it is due. Episode 8 was great, and 9 pushed another part of the story along - the acting was really good across some scenes. The scenes in Gormann looked good (looks like they copied the Paris/Resistance from WW2) and that made it feel real vs some green screen slop we've had.

When you compare Andor vs The Acolyte, its night and day difference between them - from acting, writing to direction. Both have issues, but Andor's highs are so much more relevant and intellectual than lesbian space witches doing high school the musical.

it's definitely picked up after ep3.

Yep. I almost gave up on it after Episode 3, but the ways its picked up since, I am glad I didn't.

I'd recommend to anyone that is unsure on Andor to persist with it through the less than great eps; it's worth the effort - unlike other programs that have been consistently bad across the board.

It's the last set of episodes for this season of Andor tonight. I wonder what will happen in the future? 😆
