Basically it seems:

49ers win = Eagles 7 seed

49ers lose + Saints win = Eagles 6 seed

49ers lose + Saints lose = Eagles 7 seed

Well if we won and niners lost we would have a better record. We are both 9-7. If they lost and we won they would be 9-8 and we would be 10-7.  So we would be sixth.

I wanna play Dal 1st round of playoffs. There, I said it!

we’re just pawns in a prime time money grab

In re-reading that blurb in the image attached to the post directly above yours (pasted again below for reference), I believe you are correct.  Seems the "regardless of the Eagles-Cowboys outcome" statement applies ONLY if SF loses and NO wins.  Thanks for catching that.

I think their loss to Arizona ruined that chance. Sounds like Dallas is going to play their starters while the Eagles have a bunch of guys on the Covid list. I think Sirianni plays it coy, but I get the feeling the Eagles will play their backups. Basically for them it doesn’t really matter much if the win or lose. If they win, and Sanfran does too they’re still the 7th seed. If they lose and Sanfan does as well they actually bump to the 6th.

You know what is even a less entertaining game than both teams resting? Us playing backups and Dallas playing starters. Which is a pretty good possibility.

good for them

Is there someway that by losing on Sunday, we can block the Giants from making the playoffs next season (since they're already eliminated this season)? I'd really like to see Judges' head explode!

You know what... I think there's a good chance that happens. Do the Rams have anything to play for? I know they are division winners but can they change their seeding?

I believe they can still be leapfrogged by both TB and Dallas (the former for sure, not completely sure about the latter).  So they have something to play for.

I guess unfortunately so do the Niners as they could drop out.

Yep.  If the 9ers lose and Saints win, NO is the 7 seed and the 9ers are out.

I’d like to see us go run heavy and max blitz on d.  Try and pound them and get some licks in.  Don’t care about the score or final outcome

ley our fronts on both sides of the ball have some fun

I think if the Rams lose to the niners and the Cards beat the Hawks, the Cards win the division and the Rams move to a wild card, so both need to play their starters.

Yes this is true.  I wasn't entirely sure if Dallas could also leapfrog LA too should the Rams lose and (heaven forbid) Dallas wins.  They'd have the same record, no head-to-head, but not sure of common opponents.  Dallas would hold the SOS tiebreaker.

The Rams have not won their division yet.  They need to win or have the Cardinals lose next week.

Sounds like that may happen. That will be brutal to watch, we’ll get totally spanked. I’m not even sure I can watch that.

But if our back ups even keep it close I'll Laugh my ass off.

I know traditions are generally loved but some need to be changed. The SB should be on a Saturday and within a few years people would realise its much better and would forget what it was like before. I'm not sure anyone would truly hate the move and many would love and welcome it.

Super Bowl will NEVER be on a Saturday for ONE big reason: The Jewish Sabbath.

For the Super Bowl to be moved to Saturday, kickoff would have to be pushed back to around 9:15 PM Eastern Time so the Sabbath has ended (after sundown) on the west coast.   Many in the east would complain about it but going earlier would lead to Jewish organizations complaining their constituents could not watch it,  That is one reason the NFL tries to avoid Saturday afternoon games at 1:00 as in the east, many who observe the Sabbath are usually only able to watch the second half of the late-afternoon game.

The NFL knows not to PO Jewish organizations on something like this.

Not a surprise.  They are still playing for the 3 seed, which would get them home field in the Divisional Round if the 7 seed upsets the 2 in the first round.  I suspect the Cowboys are hoping we are the 7 seed in that scenario because we'd probably have a better chance than the Saints of beating the 2 seed on the road in the first round (Excluding where our game ends in a tie, there is no scenario where the Cowboys can be the 3 seed and the 49ers the 7 seed due to the 49ers owning the tiebreaker on the Eagles and the Cowboys MUST beat us to have any chance at the 3 seed).

On a very personal note, I love this. Allows me to watch it in one go on a Sunday afternoon down here in NZ instead of Monday morning straddling between work meetings

Why would you want Cowboys in round 1?

There's still a small chance of it happening, but Cowboys have to get #2 seed. Cowboys need to beat Eagles, Buccaneers lose to Panthers, Rams lose to 49ers, and Cardinals lose to Seahawks. Eagles would be #7 seed in this case.

Anyone but Dallas.

Exactly. We haven't had anything good happen playing in Dallas lately.

Disagree.  I want to see some players who we haven't seen much, who might do well and reveal themselves as bigger contributors in the playoffs.  I'm thinking Tyree Jackson.  Tyree Jackson catching passes is something we haven't seen yet and it's something that we should see if they aren't playing a bunch of starters.   There are a lot of different new things they could try but it seems that Jackson should get a catch.
