It's been so long I feel like I'd have to rewatch, and Im not going to do that

I'll watch the new season probably feeling lost. And, yes, noticing the change in Geralt.

It feels like it's already dead. I'm not really interested anymore except that watching feels like giving it a proper burial.

It's really tough because I consider Cavill's Geralt to be on of the most iconic castings in Fantasy screen history. That said, we know the monster fights aren't going to suffer and the physical difference is negligible. The politics which were the weak link of the story was also finally getting good in season 3. At the end of the day the glue that really held the show together and kept it on top the fantasy show heap was the chemistry between Geralt and his co-stars (Yennifer/Ciri/Jaskier). Hemsworth's success is going to depend on how well he recreates that.

Add that to the list of reasons 2020 sucks!

  • Don’t Look Up was hilarious!   that’s EXACTLY how something like that would go down.  They nailed it.   ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Would Recommend to a friend!!!

  • You're drunk - the lack of Yennefer being naked at all immediately makes your claim invalid

Hemsworth totally makes a fine Geralt I think and if we had never seen Cavill we might even think this was a perfect casting. But we have seen Cavill now, and at this point I dont think anyone will fill those shoes.

The public should get over it like they got over 5 spidermen, 7 supermen and 15 batmen. Cavill does have a gravitas to him while Hemsworth will prolly yuk it up a bit more. Maybe they tone down Jaskier a bit to level it out. Whatever the case that's where this will work or fail.

Finally got to Wednesday. It was pretty entertaining. Nothing ground-breaking but entertaining if you were into the first season. What really stands out is the soundtrack though. We got Paint it Black on the Cello the first season. This season it's acoustic Bad Moon on the Rise, Instrumental Don't fear the Reaper and Piano version of Zombie by the Cranberries. Danny Elfman is a Fing master.

To me, Season 2 felt like two completely different seasons, and I actually liked the feel of the 1st half better than the 2nd half. 2nd half wasn't bad, I just found the 1st half really enjoyable.

Joffrey from Game of Thrones has a role, and he's incredibly annoying. He's going to get typecast as a character to hate.

That's kind of a shame. Everyone talks about how incredibly nice he is in real life.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the Ed Gein story is putting me right to sleep. The intertwining of Psycho and Leatherface incorporated into the show is totally uninteresting. While I acknowledge Charlie Hunnam is incredible in his role as Ed Gein, his likely Emmy winning performance doesn’t make this dumb show appealing to me at all. Dahmer was much better.

Yea, it was pretty disappointing. They had to cram in so much random stuff that he influenced just to drag the show out to 8 episodes. If you haven't watched it all yet, just wait until the finale. It goes so off the walls with

Spoiler

*Richard Speck and his boobs getting plowed by some black dude. And then three to four more scenes of him talking about and showing his boobs.

*Ed Gein becoming a sympathetic character and just misunderstood

*Ed Gein becomes a defacto detective like Hannibal Lecter and is the key to the police catching Ted Bundy (I crap you not)

I also posted this right at the beginning of episode 5 where he :

Dug up that old broad’s dead body and began spraying her with perfume because of her decay. So it’s getting a little more interesting. 😂

I bailed on the Ed Gein story. So much made up nonsense. When I was an undergrad I took an elective called "The Study of Murder". I thought it would be a fun and easy elective but it was taught by an ex cop who took it extremely seriously. For our final assignment we had to pick a serial killer and do a whole profile on them based on a ton of research. I picked Ed Gein because I knew he influenced all these movies and I wanted to know more about the real person. That said, the show barely follows the real story.

What a major disappointment this show was I had to turn it off after the 3rd episode because it’s straight up nonsense. Ed Gein is truly a great story in itself they have enough material to base the show off of facts and they went off the rails so much that it pissed me off. They just trolled the viewers with Hollywood horror BS. I’m waiting for Albert Fish’s story

I’d give anything for an Albert Fish story. What a Fing nutbag.

There's a John Waynce Gacy one that started on Peacock yesterday. I only watched the first episode but it looked ok

The Perfect Neighbor is an infuriating watch. Spent almost the entire time convinced that she was going to get away with it.

very good show IMO

A House of Dynamite is a really good movie. It’s even better if you are addicted to blue balls.

I could not believe that the movie ended the way it did. I was so into every vantage point, and then BOOOM!!! NO f'n BOOM AT ALL!!!

Exactly! I was so invested. I thought the other 1 hour and 59 minutes was incredible. One of the best movies Netflix ever put out. They get you so invested and then just edge the hell out of you.

I didn't even need to see some huge explosion. I could even live with a ambiguous ending if they just done it better. Give me a 3 minute ending of Idris Elba internally weighing options and talking to himself, give a "may God have mercy on my soul. Order code blah blah blah" end movie. Instead they just go full Soprano's.

That was exactly what I muttered when it ended. I was not a fan. It felt like it was supposed to be a character study, but they were not interesting characters.

I love it! That's exactly what it is! I just watched and I'm like, cool, where's the other half of the f'ing movie? Is this really just an ad for a US iron Dome? Yup, yup, I guess it is, just a C arse ad.

Watched Weapons the night before, so it was interesting to see A House of Dynamite and how it ended. It was kind of the same type of movie with the different point of views.

Weapons did it a lot better, imo, because each POV added new layers to the overall story. The third act of Dynamite was almost pointless because it was basically the same dialogue and scenes from the previous act, just with the a-list actor.

The new season of The Witcher is still good despite taking time to get used to Geralt looking different.

I had some issues with Weapons but that was the strength of the movie. It's a mystery movie with a horror movie wrapper.

I marathoned "Boots" over the weekend. Probably the best show Netflix has done next to Ozark.

About half way through Witcher s4 aaaand its not working for me. Yes Liam is a bigger downgrade than i expected but its also just a weak season with bad monster fights, too many lame secondary characters and boring filler. Doesn't help at all that the main characters are separated or that the Rats plotline is probably the worst in the history of the show.
