Sometimes players also want to test FA and travel around. Not always relying on if their original team wants them or not. 

Looks like a good add to play next to Edwards.  Howie may not draft well but he's pretty good at finding value through trades and acquisitions.  And we are very thin at LB.

seen gilmore’s wife has said we have been in contact with him he would be a nice add beside slay for a year or two.

I like the move but to be fair Howie has signed a LB every year for years and none have really worked out and many have flopped badly

Don't know him but some of you think he's a good player. 

I like signing him & Reddick but my concern is they won't draft defense and I like the defensive talent in this draft.

Fair. 

These invariably are the best kinds of signings.  The players have to prove their worth, so you get the best version of them.  And they're team friendly.

I prefer 2-3 years with very low guaranteed. That way the player still is very much on a prove it deal, but if he plays well you just keep him (and have an option to trade him)..

What?  I'm shocked @HazletonEagle hasn't posted in this thread as this was a player he was advocating to sign.  He's probably as happy as a pig in slop right now.

He's put up good stats and has improved each season.  Not worried about his size if he can play well as seems to be the case here.  Yay!  We got an actual LB!

Ok now we almost know the lineup on most passing downs. 

Defensive line - Sweat, Hargrave, Cox and Graham

Linebackers - White, Taylor

Secondary - CB1=Slay, CB2=?, Slot= Maddox, Safety =Harris & ?

The ?'s should be telling you what our priority should be in the draft

Missing Reddick. But yeah it does seem that way, except a lot of people think they'll go DT or DE high. I would love to see a defensive heavy draft on days 1 & 2 then fill in depth on offense day 3.

Well Alex Singleton was the Eagles leading tackler last season, so i heard. If this guy is better than Alex, then it's a good signing.

I had a hard time seeing us drafting a LB in round 1 even with 3 picks (should we use all 3) and prior to the White signing … even more reason to believe this move won’t impact any draft plans.

With 3 picks I'd be tempted to just get it out of the way. No 1st round LB in 43 years.

They could draft the best DE available, best LB available and a S or CB and bolster the defense. But they won't.
