Of course because he hasn't come out and officially said it but his biggest crusade has been the "censorship"

That's pretty vague though but I can see why some may somehow reach the Trump destination

I would think he would just bring back most banned "real" accounts. Again, you're right, none of this is based on confirmation.

Oh well... if only I'd had $50 more, Twitter would have been ours!

You were right there until the very end.

Yeah, but I was just shocked that it was an eBay auction!

Our resident rug rat was actually right about one thing (for once, hard to believe, I know). Trump not being able to tweet was one of the best things that happened to his political favorability ratings.

The Fappening part 2...

You damn straight ;) I got my popcorn for the meltdown on both sides.

There are some very angry people on Twitter; they are about to move to Canada in protest at Musk buying the company.

I'm certain over half of Trump's followers are actually haters. The comments on political Twitter feeds are always from people who hate the original poster.

if this thread is any indicator, it's going to be epic.

Twitter is so strange. I get that they're real people for the most part, but the crap I see on twitter I can't believe (or maybe I just choose not to) that those people can't be like that in real life.

I've noticed this a lot too. It's pretty much for everything. The ones that don't like something will speak up the most on social media

Agree  There are times I see what I presume is a parody account, and it's real; they are that weird.  After seeing the Extinction Rebellion protests over here, those people are very real and like that in day to day life

Yeah, some people need lives. The last thing I want to do is follow the few posters in TATE who drive me up a wall, but I guess being pissed off all the time works for some people.

The people who post Tweets by political people here are normally from people mocking them so it holds true even here.

Trump, MTG, conspiracy nuts and other White Supremacists, will be welcomed back with open arms.

My EMB notifications would prove the exact same thing here.

You could say that about half the accounts in CVON

They should honk their horns when they're crossing the border to announce their arrival.

Wow. My inclination is that I don't care, but I'm wondering if I should care. I generally see Twitter as the filthiest of an array of internet cesspools that currently hold enormous sway in our society, but I see two goods that can come of this: Musk either swiftly runs Twitter into the ground and destroys it from within, or people become so disenchanted with it that a viable competitor comes online. Any outcome that reduces Twitter's power and prominence is good in my book.

So you see no value in the possibility that Musk help reverse the stupidity that is cancel culture? A both sides problem and net negative for the society. I think it could be quite a positive if he could actually do that and also end the bots on Twitter hopefully setting a precedent.
