Some like Warren hate billionaires and don’t want to see any of them gain power. Others see Twitter as "their platform” where right hate is not allowed and that Musk will change that and turn it into a alt right trumpet.

I personally think it's more of the anti-wealth fervor that has been whipped up on the left that has them projecting some kind of MAGA persona on Musk. I'm no huge fan of Musk, but he's hardly a Trump supporter. He's basically a Libertarian nerd who likes to do drugs. As with everything in life, both sides will be proven wrong and disappointed if Musk completes the acquisition. The right will be livid when Trump remains banned, and the left will be upset because Musk will allow more speech to be posted without censorship.

A lot of people don't know how to handle when someone has views that span across the political spectrum. They want you to check all the boxes to be on their side and if you don't they start to dig and find things to associate you with the other side, which is why you see these stories about apartheid and calling him a white supremacist.

That's fair. Some of the articles are just ridiculous. There's no reason I can see to hate Elon Musk. Other than the fact that he seems like he could be childish at times but that's harmless.

I'd say he's pissing off the mainstream left, as evidenced by everyone that's spoken out against him, but I'm not too sure he's pissed off the "extreme right" in any way. The left doesn’t care how rich you are as long as your wealth supports their agenda (as already mentioned in this thread Soros, Gates, Zuckerberg, etc). The problem they have with Musk is that he’s a step backwards for them in regards to censorship of their political enemies. Not sure on if Trump remains banned, but Musk has already talked openly about how speech that isn’t illegal (threats of violence etc) should be allowed. He’s specifically talked about COVID and the Hunter Biden NYP story getting censored. He’s had his own issues with tranny jokes. THAT is what has them up in arms.
