The timing of an incident that occurred in 2016 and was documented with a settlement in 2018? Did Doc and Marty pay her a visit back then to warn her about Musk buying Twitter 4 years into the future?

Yeah....which comes out just as he is buying Twitter and literally just said I'm never voting Democrat again. So...lots of years of space for this to come out and it just comes up now?

He did all this after he found out about the story. This was already confirmed by Business Insider. How are you so easily duped by all of this?

Is that a serious question?

OK, so take the Dem thing off the table, the timing of him buying Twitter still stands and as for ramifications who owns the Patriots? Any massage related harassment claims floating around? How did that pan out? Lose his team? Nothing is going to happen either way past some people having a circle jerk thinking they got him.
The bottom line is the left is triggered and wants him gone, so they are going back to their playbook.

LOL. Musk will never resign. He'd have to be forced out, and we are miles away from that.

More likely is large TSLA holders putting pressure on him to reach a deal with TWTR to get out of the merger.

Eiethr way, I might jump in. In the current climate, this drop can be an opportunity.

Yeah, the point isn't when the incident supposedly happened, but when it's coming out.

Do you know how many large corporations pay out hush money? Guys in power are a-holes, we agree, and I'm certainly not condoning it, but the timing on this isn't an accident.

One of the reasons these kinds of hush money payoffs used to be a political killer was because it compromised the individual.

If the press can dig up this kind of dirt on Musk with relative ease, what would hostile states that are our economic and political rivals be able to do?

It's why not nearly enough stink was made about Trump's lack of transparency about his financial entanglements, among other reasons. It's very easy to compromise someone if you have leverage.

In any case, the Musk story is different. Obviously the timing is suspect, but he also invited this kind of scrutiny with his antics.

(If he had been so aggressive on behalf of libs he would have suffered similarly from Tucker and others, and become persona non grata in what are at this point equally powerful right wing circles.)

Nah, just that his "freedom of speech" schtick is full of sh**. His acting out now is just sad.

I'm not a Musk fanboy. He amuses me at times and makes me shake my head quite often. Tucker is another a-hole. This guy is an Iron Man wannabe with enough F you money that this isn't going to hurt him, but it's an obvious attempt from the left to bring it up and smack him down. Does he encourage it? Sure. Will it matter in the end? No. Will it silence him? No.

@Diehardfan  In case you haven't been keeping up on the details, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and layout the timeline below...

Until May 18th, Musk did not take any strong political stances to the effect of switching parties, or being the target of attacks from either side of the aisle. Suddenly that all changes on May 18th and he starts making statements about switching to voting for republicans, impending attacks from the despicable left, etc

Story drops from BI on the evening of May 19th, and it seems like he predicted the smear campaign all along, right?

Sure, except BI confirmed he was contacted for comment about the start on or before the morning of May 18th, and in fact they even state he initially responded and requested more time to respond. He then lies about being contacted and acts like this was a hit piece he was predicting all long. Unfortunately for him, and his sycophants, BI has the receipts and he got caught lying again.

The guy's a petty, vindictive, narcissistic, attention whoor that lies about anything and everything if he thinks his image and brand is at stake. If that doesn't sound familiar to you by now, it should.

I mean, the real issue is that he knew he had to attack the left or else he wouldn't have had any support when this came out.  If you're down the middle a-political no one gives an F about defending you.  It's the pick-a-side-ness of this story that's really disturbing.

To his credit, Musk knew exactly which political faction was stupid enough to believe this Miss Cleo act of his, and if the last couple pages of this thread are any indication, he was absolutely right.

Not going to disagree with the last line. I don't think it's just because of the Dem thing, that may not be factored in, but he was pissing in their pool and triggering the hell out of them, so it's not shocking it leaked now.

Bolded= He publically called out the Dem party/liberals in general, that many did not like, drawing attention to him as a target

I'm a bit of a fan. Not a fanboy but he's someone I think I'd enjoy working for.

Conviently leaving out all of his twitter and leftist bias tweets for months, not to mention his criticism of Biden and his admins again for months.

But do go on.

He seems amusing at times for sure and it's cool what his company seems to be doing in the space race, but I honestly don't care what happens with all this.

True.  The left is really bad at protecting people on their side (their issue is that they circle the wagons on ideas on their side, like stupid trans sheet, etc., even when they know they're stupid).  The right, on the other hand, will defend a serial killer as long as he attacks Democrats.

Agreed. I also have enormous respect for him, for his boldness and his pragmatic approach.

Only AFTER he found out about the article and that it was to be released in the coming days. I'd be super confused how so many of you trumpbots still aren't understanding the timeline if not for the well established track record you all have when it comes to reading calendars.

Ah, Bill Clinton blows that example out of the water. They circle the wagons pretty freaking well when someone on their side does something and it gets swept under the rug quite often in the media. Yeah, some get thrown to the wolves, but look at a certain senator in New Jersey. You think he would have had a shot at getting elected again if he was GOP? I'm not in favor of anyone being protected if they are an a-hole on either side.

Bill Clinton was 30 years ago and had the support of most of the country, not just the left.  I don't even know who you're talking about in NJ.
